It has been two years now since "Big Glenn" was taken away from us and I still remember that terrible day like it was only yesterday. We mourn his passing, we grieve his absence, but we can all celebrate his life. Glenn Hicks was a great man, a wonderful family man, a great friend to all and a respected and dedicated lawman. He will never be forgotten.
We still miss you my friend!

Paw,
There has been so much to happen while you have been gone to heaven. I asked momma if I could write you a letter to tell you about everything. I am in First grade this year! I have learned to ride my bike with out training wheels, I am learning to read, and I had my first spelling test and made a hundred. I even played T-ball this year. Daddy said you would be real proud of me. I miss you so much paw, I still sleep with your kitty and shirt everynight. Caleb talks about you all the time. He says you come and sit on his bed at night. Cyle is growing, he is starting to talk. I love you and miss you very much.

I remember well when WLOS news announced that there had been another law enforcement officer killed. It breaks my heart to know that we live in such a cruel world.
I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).
We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.
These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

Remembering you on the anniversary of your home-going, Lt. Glenn
Hicks:
It is so sad to come to this site and see all the officers down.
According to these reflections, you knew Jesus personally and that
blesses me greatly as I know I will meet you face to face one day
and be able to thank you for your sacrifice. There is none greater than
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We don't get to Heaven based on
what we do, but what He did for us!! AMEN! Thank you for your fine
example to those that worked with you and knew you. There is now a
huge void that cannot be filled, but as you are remembered, thoughts will
turn to your exemplary life and we will be filled with pride and respect
and love for the man you became. You were a wonderful testimony to
the Lord you served. God be with all those who mourn and may His
promises lift all those with heavy hearts for many years to come.

Will Glenn it has been 1 year sense we lost you, and it has been a hard day, because we miss you so much. I know you would be so proud to know how you were honored, and what a wonderful out pouring of love and respect from all your family, friends and fellow Offices of your Department showed to you. I know you would say to everyone that is was to much fuss, but I know you would be so proud to know how much you accomplished and how many life's you touched while you were here on earth, for you are truly loved and missed by all those who's life's you thouched. I know you are reaping the great reward in heaven, but it is nice to know that you have been recognized here to. Will I hope you are having a great time up there in Heaven, and are saving us a special place. Hope we can see each other soon. Love You. Thanks to everyone whom has left a reflection to our family, and thanks for all your many thoughts and prayers. Glod Bless you All, and please make heaven your home to.

2004 is a new year. Nearly a full year passed since Big Glenn was taken from us. Even though he has moved on to a better place, we all here still miss him and think of him; I know I do. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers in the new year. God Bless and be safe out there brothers and sisters.
