Hey Uncle Jay,

We all miss you very much. All of the kids are doing great. Gettin Big and talking, I really wish you were here to see every each and every one of us grow up and get great education. But I guess God took you up for a reason. Well, it's really late, I should get to sleep. I love you. Bye

Dear Jay:
Happy Birthday! My gift to you was a Mass said in your honor on your birthday at 9:00 Sunday morning. I have made this a tradition since we lost you. This special day is still a marking of time for mortals, but your home now is one of eternity. I know you and David are enjoying the Lord's company and staying busy taking care of us down here on earth. We miss both of you terribly, but, somehow are comforted in knowing we'll all be rejoined together at some point in time. You were such a fine young man and father. It is so evident why David thought so highly of you. Your friendship was so important to him. Your beautiful children are an extension of your being so a part of you remains with your family always and with us the fond memories.
Love always, Ms. Millie

Jay, ( J.J. to me)
The other day I was going through pictures and ran across some of us as kids and decided to look you up and I found you. I am sorry that I didn’t get to see you on this earth one last time. But you became an outstanding man, which I always figured you would. I look back on my childhood memories of you, me and Amy playing and running amuck like crazy heathens drunk with innocence and laugh outloud. One of my favorite one’s is of us “barefoot in the park” I think that is how the newspaper ran it. I still have that article. But that is just one of the “good ol day” memories; I will carry with me forever in my heart. But I know that one day I will see you again and you will still have that same sly mischievous grin and gleam in your eye just like when we where kids.

Summer is going great, we have had lots of family at the lake, of course everytime a boat goes by, it makes me think of you. I know your spirit is here with us, because we always have a good time together, you were all about a good time. I guess you are experiencing the ultimate Good Time now. We all Love You and Miss You with all our Hearts.

Hey Uncle Jay,

Sorry I haven't been writing to you very often. I have been so busy lately. School just gets harder and harder. Noelle and I are still getting along very well. Margaux is just a huge goofball. She's always smiling and laughing. We have so many little cousins. To me, they're nieces and nephews because they're so close to me. There's a new one in the family. His name is Patrick and he is the cutest little thing. Jeremi, Jaci, and Ricki are thr best of cousins. They're so lucky to be so close in age. Margaux has Mallori and Dylan to play with, then there's Noelle and I. I love you oh so very much and I miss you.

P.S. You know, you can visit me every once in a while. I won't be scared one bit. I know you're probably already here though.

4 years has passed us by, we have lost another officer, I know you and The David's have Brian. I know when you saw him it was a joyful moment. I sure am glad God keeps his promises and his word proves to be true over and over. I can say God is so good, he is so good to me. You would be as proud of your department as I am. They handled Brian and his family with such respect. They honored him just as they honored you and David. I have to say, you were hanging out with the right people, it makes me proud to know them. All of Them! I will do all I can for his family.
We still miss you with all our hearts, we will see you in God's special moment for us, until then I will do what I can. I love you and miss you.

It's been 4 years since you've been gone,
and still we're trying to hold on.
It's hard to lose someone so dear,
someone you always hold so near.
Brother, Father, Uncle, Son-
The list goes on of what you've done.
We won't forget your laugh and smile,
The "Brightest Star" by a mile!

Is this day ever going to get easier??? Mom has found her way to make it a little better...she is cooking for all the officers and your friends. I had Noelle over here the other day and she is soooo tall and wears a size 8.5 shoe!!! She flips on the trampoline and can land her front flip - I was amazed at her abilities. Hannah and her want to be cheerleaders when they get to Junior High which isn't far away ~ Margaux is just goofy, she loves to dance around all crazy like. She also cleans Jaci & Ricki's room when she comes over to my house. They are wonderful kids and we are so happy to have them! The new baby, Patrick, is doing great ~ wish you could be here to see your neice and nephews that never got the chance to meet you...I guess I should end this reflection...gotta leave room for other people to write!

Love You and Miss you

Dear Jay;
Well, your mom and I took all the grandgirls on a girls day out not to long ago. What a cluster!!! Not really it was fun and we had a blast. The ice skating was funny. The girls loved it. Hopefully we can do another day out soon. Noelle and Hannah are really growing up fast. They stick together like glue. Margaux came by the station to visit the other day or rather sell cookie dough. No one could turn her down. She was trying to win her prizes including a limo ride which of course she got enough orders for. She had to throw pennies in the fountain for you and she wanted to get in the water but talked her out of it. That girl, man, is she something. She brightens my day. Of course I talked to your mom all the time and if it weren't for her I think sometimes I'd go nuts. How your mom does it I'll never know.. Wish I had her strength, courage, and patience.. I thank God for her everyday she's my best friend and I love her dearly.
Miss ya man thinking about you always.

Almost 4 years have passed and I have to say we all miss you so much. Others tell me they think of you all the time.Today is the 3 year anniversary of Lisa's death, and I am thinking the little guy who killed her will be getting out of jail soon, I sure hope he changes his ways. It has been a while since I have posted a reflection, we have been very busy, we have a new Baby, another boy, Patrick Ethan. The Girls are growing up so fast, Noelle is as tall as me and so beautiful, Margaux is another beauty and she reminds me so much of you(silly). They are wonderful children and you would be so proud of them, just as we are so proud of them. We all love you and miss you so much. Iwalu, Mom

Missing you as usual, Loving you always, getting by the best I can. I have studied one day at a time for so long, it took "you" to make me really understand One Day at a Time, well today was another day that the Lord has made. The sun shining bright, the river rolling, and the fish jumping! I think of you everyday, mostly happy thoughts, I will always miss you, but I am so thankful for all you left behind, The Girls, and all the great memories. Memories = one day at a time. You have to make the memories today, tomorrow may be to late, you have to live today, tomorrow may be to late, you have to love today, tomorrow may be to late, actually today is all we have until tomorrow gets here and then it's Today all over (I've got the one day at a time) Thank God. I'll take all he will give me. Well, you have taught me alot about living, I have to say I'm not surprised one bit. You always enjoyed life and appreciated the little things, and now you are enjoying eternal life and that is all that matters to me. I will alwayslove U, Mom

I miss you man. We had some good times at Fort Irwin, California in the desert sneaking off to get some fast food and "refreshments". We had some good laughs in Panama losing all of that money looking for a snorkling trip that you booked on the wrong date. We had a blast in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Fort Polk.

Pineville High School days will never be forgotten. I'm blessed to have known you for all of my life. Thanks for the extra bass that you caught and for the additions to my room at Fort Polk with your tools. I miss you buddy! I keep all of our photos closeby and I look at them quite often.
