With Respect

Ofc. Justin Faw

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer. Tonight, February 20, 2003 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Lt. George Brooks who died just yesterday.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Lt. Brooks' sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Your life on earth was troubled, only you could know the pain. You werent afraid to face the devil, you were no stranger to the rain. Go rest high on that mountain, son your work on earth is done. Go to heaven, look for the father and the son. Oh how we cried the day you left us. Gathered round your grave to grieve. Wish I could see the angels faces, when they hear your sweet voice sing.

My fiance, Dennis McElderry, was the first law enforcement casualty of 2003. Having gone through the pain of losing Dennis I can truly understand and feel the pain that Lieutenant Brook's family, friends, and co-workers must be feeling. My heart goes out to his wife and children especially. I wish I could give you a few words of wisdom to help you through this tough time, but there isn't anything I can really say or do to make the situation better. Just know that my thoughts are with you.

Please accept my condolences on behalf of the McElderry family and remember that George is part of huge law enforcement family. If you ever need anything any number of them will be there for you (as I've quickly found out!) From reading the many reflections posted here, I am certain George was well respected and well loved. Thank you for a job well done and for helping to make this world a safer place for us all. Please take care of my fiance Dennis.

Peace, Love, Luck, and Happiness!

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall softly on your fields
May God hold you gently in the palm of his hand
Until we meet again.

God bless you and your family
