13 years have gone by in a blink and yet it's been an eternity of missed memories and conversations. I take some measure of comfort when sending Ken out for shift knowing that you will be watching over him and your other brothers in blue. You are missed, always.

Happy 36th Birthday, Son.
As always since you left us, our hearts are filled with sadness on what should be a joyous day. We thank God for the gift of having you in our lives for such a short period of time. I hope you know how many people love you. Not one minute of one day goes by without a thought of you.
Love you forever,

Happy Birthday! I rarely do anything on your birthday it is reserved just for you. I consider myself very lucky to live with a part of you, but I'm sure you think that too. Kylie is growing up so fast and it's shocking how much she is like you. It must be all those visits in her dreams.
Happy Birthday and we love you!

It's hard to believe it's been another year. We talk about you often. There are still tears but mostly there are smiles and laughter about something you said or did. We still miss you so much and I think it's safe to say that will never go away but we are so lucky to have known and loved you. Our blue light shines bright for you, brother!

12 years. I don't know what to say. Has it been that long? I took it for granted that you looked up to me and Bob working the Lincoln Mall detail, as you worked security.
God Bless you. We try to check up on your family for you.
Things are tough for your brothers and sisters at the MPD, but we are going to be strong. Check in on us. Keep us safe. Remind us of our tactics. Remind of us of our families. Love you brother...

Dear Son,
Today is the 12th anniversary of the day God took you from us. We know you are looking down on your family, especially your beautiful loving daughter who has your personality and heart of gold. As our family grows, the pain of your absence seems to worsen. You are remembered by so many; their stories of you are healing. Keep the pieces of our hearts you took with you until we meet again and make them whole.
Love you forever. Time does not heal all wounds.

Happy 35th Birthday Son!
Another year has gone by without you physically in our lives. There have been a lot of changes within our family, but I am sure you are looking down smiling. The most wonderful thing is that you are still remembered by so many!
We love you and miss you so much.

Dear Son,
Eleven years since the Monday morning you were physically ripped from our lives. It is still surreal. We still expect you to walk in our front door. Your little girl has your personality and your eyes. She is happy, trusting, and very caring. We know you are her angel always beside her. We miss you, son. The pain will never go away until we meet again.
Love you forever. Our hearts are with you.

It's hard to believe that 11 years ago this morning, while most of us were still sleeping, you were taken from us. 11 years....nearly half as long as you lived. You still smile down on us from the framed picture of you and Ken at academy graduation. A smaller, tattered version still resides in Ken's wallet where it's been since the day we laid you to rest. More than anything, I remember your beaming smile. I remember your smile on the day you and Ken graduated from academy. I remember your smile the day of your wedding and the smile in your voice when you called us to tell us about your baby girl. Just a month later you were gone and we sat on our kitchen floor and cried. Now we watch your little girl grow up from afar, just as you do, I'm sure. We see your smile shining through her. We have our own little girl now and we make sure she knows who your are. You are more than a badge number; more than a EOW date; more than a blue light shining in our front window. You were, and always will be our brother in blue. We miss you.

Dear Son,
It has been ten years since you were taken from us. It is so hard to believe it has been that long. We think about you daily; that morning plays through our minds every single day. Special thanks to all the officers, police departments, family, friends, and everyone who played a part in helping us figure out our new "normal". We will always miss you, and you still play a big role in our lives.
Our undying love to you until we see your smiling face again.

Happy 33rd Birthday. I wish you were here with us to celebrate. Instead we will go to mass, visit your grave, grieve, and thank God that we had you, albeit for such a short time, in our lives. Your 23rd birthday are the last pictures we have of you. We feel your presence in our lives each day.

To My Son,
It's your 32nd birthday (February 6) and almost nine years since you were taken from us. I know you are watching over all of us, but my heart still aches more than ever for you. You will ALWAYS be a part of our lives. Life is a roller coaster of emotions; a day doesn't go by when I don't relive February 17. I am so proud to be your mother. Happy Birthday in Heaven, Eric. Love knows no boundaries.
