Please remember the fallen officers we have lost. Remember the men and women who died trying to make this world a safer and better place for us all to live in. Thank you Officer Booker for a job well done. Please continue to watch over us and protect us as only you can. You will forever be at our side and in our hearts.

For those of you who still have loved ones with us please take the time to tell them how much you appreciate and care about them.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

To the family of Officer Booker: My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. A great nation mournes your loss, simply because it is our loss as well.

May you rest in peace Officer Booker. Thankyou for your service and your dedication. You will be missed.

My fiance, Dennis McElderry, was the first law enforcement casualty of 2003. Having gone through the pain of losing Dennis I can truly understand and feel the pain that Officer Booker's family, friends, and co-workers must be feeling. I wish I could give you a few words of wisdom to help you through this tough time, but there isn't anything I can really say or do to make the situation better.

Please accept my condolences on behalf of the McElderry family and remember that Andre is part of huge law enforcement family. If you ever need anything any number of them will be there for you (as I've quickly found out!) Andre was well respected and well loved. Thank you for a job well done and for helping to make this world a safer place for us all. Please take care of my fiance Dennis.

Peace, Love, Luck, and Happiness!

How hard it is to watch the news and see that another hero has fallen. You died doing what you love, not many people can say that. Although your passing was untimely you have made a lasting impression with us all. God bless your family and friends in this time of need. Smiling upon them all from the heavens above is what Im sure you are doing. Thank you for risking your life so that others may live. Always a hero never to be forgotten.

With having a brother and many friends in law enforcement and the military, I can only imagine the loss felt from this great tragedy! As an employee of the largest corporation in Officer Booker's jurisdiction, I want to leave my thanks for his contribution in helping to protect us and others in the community during his service.

Officer Booker will be missed by many. It is with deepest respect that I wish to thank Officer Booker and his family, for his service to his community (also the community of relatives of mine). It is never easy to lose a fellow officer, especially one that was just beginning a career of service to others.

I awoke Monday 13 Jan. 2003 @ 0500 turning on the television and as i was shaving the news of Officer Booker's passing came across and shocked me. I once worked for the County of Henrico Division of Security, and while on patrol i've worked with many of the division's elite but never had the opportunity to work with Officer Booker. I know i would have gotten the same impression of Officer Booker that i have heard from other Officers describing his smiling face. The Henrico Division of Police has a guardian angel in Officer Booker and be rest assured that he is smiling when A- platoon breaks roll call and hits the streets for their tour of duty. May God bless Officer Booker's family and the Henrico Division of Police in this time of tradgedy.

The parents of Officer Booker will always be remembered in our prayers. Their son, like many brave young Americans, has made the ultimate sacrifice for their community and country. The Booker family can be extremely proud of their son as all the Henrico and other police officers around the nation honor him. I know he has received his eternal reward and his fellow Officers will miss him.
May God afford you strength in your time of grief.

I will pray for your family and co-workers. I know the grief is deep and will not mend for some time. Thank you for being a part of the law enforcement family and God speed.

Andre',
We miss you out in the 40 zone. We still can't believe your gone, but I know you are watching over A platoon.

I sit here and ask myself why........and I pray for you and your family. I thank God for placing you in my path. I just wish it wasn't for such a short time. We watched each others backs out there, that's what brothers do. I will never forget your kindness and smile Andre'. You had an impact on every life you touched. You are a true hero !!!

We love you and will never forget you.
