Reflections for Trooper Robert Wayne Ambrose
I know from recent experience what the pain is of loosing a friend and co-worker cop. Be strong for Trooper Robert Ambrose's and his family. Hold together, keep up the daily fight to do the right thing. Robert is with God, in a better place with the brother and sister law enforcement officers that went before him. Help Roberts family, and keep his memory strong-WE WILL NOT FORGET OUR OWN.

Bob,
I find myself reflecting on our conversation earlier that day, when I tried to convince you to place 23" rims on your truck, and your response was " That would make me a Rapper". I can't help thinking of our last conversation some 40 minutes before your accident, when you were leaving the station on your way to handling that accident. You said that since those people involved in the accident don't know how to drive you were going to write those at fault a ticket. I clearly remember what I said to you..... "Bob, you're my hero"! I truly mean that!
Although, I never had the pleasure of hanging out with you outside of the job, I will never know, how great of a person and friend you really were. I enjoyed every opportunity I had to be in your company! I will never forget you, nor you family!
Hey, anyone who can win over Tony in such a short time, is truly a special person!
Rest my brother.... Your tour of duty is over!!!
Your FRIEND

A POLICE OFFICER'S CHRISTMAS
'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the streets,
Not a person was stirring, 'cept an officer on the beat.
As he quietly patrolled the town with great care,
children and parents slept peacefully there.
The officer was clad in his blues and his vest,
gun on his hip, always looking his best.
He'd just pulled aside for a quick bite to eat,
When all of a sudden, out on the street,
A bright light appeared from out of nowhere,
He shielded his eyes from the brilliant glare.
'Twas an angel of the Lord at the squad's rear,
He smiled and spoke, "Dear Officer, don't fear."
"I've been sent by God with a message for you
who faithfully serve while wearing the blue.
He wants you to know He loves you all,
He's pleased with the way you've answered His call.
"To protect and serve others, so selfless you've been,
Your bravery and kindness have known no end.
Even in tragedy, when nights became long,
You've helped countless strangers by being strong.
"God sees your heart, the joy and the pain,
He knows the profession can often bring strain.
So he sent me here to let you know,
That as you patrol, He goes where you go.
"As you protect others, your Father protects you,
His angels go with you, His Spirit does, too.
No bullet too fast, no bad guy too strong,
I'm sent to make sure that your life will be long.
"So fear not the night, and fear not the day,
fear not the threats that might come your way.
I'm sent to accompany you on your beat,
There's not one moment you're alone on the street."
The officer sat stunned by the love of His God,
He bowed his head, with a tear gave a nod.
As the officer said thank you, the angel took flight,
"God's got your back, carry on, and goodnight."
God Bless You , Rest in Peace...

I first met Bob while he was in the Academy, he was a recruit that I had taught Accident Investigation. Since then I have worked with him on many occasions, collision investigations, and vehicle searches. The lasting impression that I will have of him is that I never saw him angry or upset to be at work. He would always greet you with his huge smile, and a laugh that would fill a room. Bob will truly be missed by all.

Although I did not know Tpr Ambrose personally, I do know that he left our agency a better place in his short time with us. My deepest sympathy to your family, and may they know that we will always be there for them. Rest in peace, along with our other fallen brothers, in particular my classmate and friend Joey Aversa, and Mike Kelly.

After months of showing my supervisors the dangers of a rear end collision with a crown vic another brother in blue loses his life. My car was repaired by recall just last week for the gas tank problem. My heart goes out to the family of Trooper Ambrose and the NY State Police. Stay safe... and never give up hope.

My family and I wish to offer any help we can give in this time of loss. On 08-05-02 I was knocked unconcious in a rear end collision. My 1998 Ford Crown Victoria burst into flames and 6 people were able to pull me free. I wish that the angel that was with me that day could have been there for my brother in gray. You will never be forgotten in my heart.
