Reflections for Deputy Sheriff George Monroe Selby
George, it’s been over 22 years. I still think of you now, you were a friend, a fellow Officer. I remember your big smile most of all. I worked the Crime Scene that night December 04, 2002 it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in the 41 years of my career. We got it done. God Bless you.

Man I miss you brother, I remember everything from that day as I was behind you as part of the entry team to execute this warrant. It was you who opened your arms to me and said, welcome to Narcotics. Those words will never be forgotten. My hero forever.
Reserve Narcotic Deputy Robert Rivera.

May the angels lead thee into Paradise: May the Holy Martyrs receive thee at thy coming, and lead thee into the Holy city of the heavenly Jerusalem. May the choir of Angels receive thee; and mayest thou have eternal rest with Lazarus who was once a begger. Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

I remember being over at Stauffer's hose with you and Speight when Stauffer was frying fish one night. You kept going through the kitchen and stealing the fish as he was frying it. We kept laughing and George couldn't figure out what we were laughing at. After he had been frying fish for 30 minutes and there was only 3 pieces on the plate, he figured out you had been taking it. We were all laughing so hard. Miss you brother.

I don't know exactly where I was when I heard, but I remember it pretty well. An unfortunate situation, and it impacted everyone pretty hard. Also, I believe I may have known one of his relatives, and that made it hit home even more. I hope his family is well, and may he continue to rest in peace.

My dear friend....you were on my mind again today....I don't know what makes me think of you...I guess it's probably something I hear or see that brings back a memory...more than likely something funny...Even though we grew up and started lives of our on, I can't help but miss you...I guess it's because I know you are no longer here...but our loss is heavens gain...I bet you actually make God laugh too... I truely hope you know how much you are loved...
