Reflections for Trooper Christopher Michael Van Krevelen
To the family of Trooper Van Krevelen,
Even though I have not met you or Trooper Van Krevelen I pray for you and pray that you will have the strength to go on for years knowing that he was serving Oklahomans and keeping them safe. No one in my family is a fallen officer but I know what it is like to lose some one you love. I lost my mom 14 years ago in Sept. I never really knew her do to I was very young but I still have memories that have and I hope never leave. I pray it will be the same with Trooper Van Krevelen just know you are not going through this alone.

To the family and Jessica Van Krevelen
I did not know Chris, but I know his wife. I just wanted to say "Thank You" Jessica for helping the kids and I through very difficult times. When things slowed down and times were hard it seems there's always a card in the mail from you. You are such a special person to us and I'm sorry we had to meet under these circumstances. I'm so sorry for the loss to your entire family! We know what you have been going through and all of you are in our prayers. I know from Bill that Chris was a great Trooper. I'm sure they are keeping each other company and comparing stories. Maverick, Kendra and I love you guys!

To Chris's Family,
I found out about Chris's unfortunate accident a year after it happened. My older brother Cory prayed with him so he could become an officer while they were working as landscapers on Vance AFB. I meet him right before I left to go to the Air Force. It was a sight to see how excited he was about trying to transfer from the Enid P.D. to the Oklahoma Highway patrol. The point of my story is some people never accomplish two things that Chris did with his short time with us. He accomplished his major goal of being a highway patrolman. Second, he made a major difference not just in people’s lives while accomplishing his goal. He made an impact to a nation wide community just look at the letters from people all over. To the Van Krevelen family from the Smith family we love you and you will always be in our prayers.

Dear Chris,
I have recently learned of your story through a very new friend... your dad. I came here after hearing about you to see what kind of man you were, knowing all the while what I would find because your dad is such a great man. I knew you would be too. Your death was a tragedy in so many ways to so many people. I know, just by reading your reflections how much you are still loved and missed every day. My thoughts will stay with you forever, you died way too young. The streets are safer where you are. Thank you for giving so many people the privilege of knowing you and loving you.

Chris,
I have been praying for your family as your third birthday in Heaven approaches.
I never had the pleasure of meeting you but I know that you are with wonderful company there in Heaven. Reading your reflections, you sound like so many others committed to the job you loved, happy, and fun to be around.
I know that you have met Josh there. It seems like parents are drawn together to share in the same grief that you must know each other.

To the family of Trooper Van Krevelen,
I wanted to leave my sincere condolences to the family of Chris Van Krevelen. Though I did not know Chris personally, I knew his wife Jessica from high school. I learned of this tragic event just a few days ago. After reading several of the reflections about chris, he sounded like a wonderful person who loved his family and his duty very much.
Chris, You made the ultimate sacrifice and my god bless you

Dear Chris,
I met your sister this weekend at siblings retreat and she is a wonderful person. She spoke so highly of you and how close you two were. We cried a lot of tears together and laughed a lot too telling each other stories about our brothers. I can't wait to see her again. We had a lot in common. I know you and my brother will be watching over everyone you love. You made the ultimate sacrifice and for that we all thank you!

I didn't know Chris personally but I heard my husband speak highly of him many times. My husband graduated out of the 51st Academy with Chris and Matt. I recently traveled to Washington D.C., my kids were requesting souvenirs my husbands only request was I go to the Police Memorial and obtain a rubbing of Chris and Matt's names which I proudly did, these names now rest with items my husband holds near and dear to his heart. Please remember our thoughts and prayers are with your family always and Chris will not be forgotten.
