No words can ease anyones pain or justify the death of this brave man. However, he was a hero in my eyes, and will always remain that way. May God give his wife and children, his friends and family, and his fellow officers the strength to carry on. Trooper Sepp, you're on your way to Heaven now and no more harm can be done. God bless you.

My heart dropped when I saw that another name had been added to the list of fallen officers. This brings back to me such pain...my daughter was killed in the line of duty six months ago. There are no words that can ease the pain of your loss. I pray that God will give you the strength to sustain you through all that you face and the comfort that only he can give to soften the pain.

Trooper Sepp: May you take your place on the streets of heaven. Your watch here is now over. Watch over us all as we take your place and continue your work.
To the family and friends of Trooper Sepp: I share in your sorrow and your grief. Stand tall and stand proud. On January 8th, 2002 we lost two officers in the line of duty. Although I did not know Trooper Sepp, I can feel your pain. At times the hurt may be overwhelming, but he will see you through.
Again, my deepest condolences.

Just one hour before Trooper Sepp was shot, I was nearly caught in the middle of a very similar pursuit while on my way home. A drunk driver led police in my community on a long pursuit, and I got home less than five minutes before it passed my house. I remember praying and hoping nothing would happen to pursuing officers, and it hurts knowing this was about to happen to Trooper Sepp. I am so sorry for his family and friends, he died protecting all of us.

I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face
"In the line of duty" I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years
The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind
I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last!
May God Bless the family, friends and co-workers of Trooper Joseph J. Sepp! He along with the rest of his department are the true hereos of this world!
