Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Martin Luther Arterberry

That is so sad that you didn't get to see how rewarding a career in Law Enforcement can be. Be assured that even though 55 years have passed you will never be forgotten. My sympathies are going out to your Wife and Children, your Mother and Siblings.
Rest in peace Officer Arterberry.

Use your wisdom and vision wisely. You may never know when it will come in handy. Your gift to this world, Officer Cook, was your contributions to mankind and its humanity, Officer Cook, a spirited soul with a kind heart. Dade County and its folks were well cared for in honor and dignity, respect and integrity. A mature man beyond your years family, friends and comrades will humbly salute your humbleness and its associated heroism. A legend forever etched upon Our Lord's walls of valor and columns of courage and persona. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Violence and terror may run together now, one day real soon peace and serenity will permanently replace this binge of evil with by devoted servants such as yourself, Officer Cook.

Luke, may you rest in peace knowing that you were a great mentor to me as I worked alongside you as I was growing.
I was just a small boy when I first started haging out with you all night many nights working on your projects. Thanks for being a great uncle. It would please you to know that I retired from law enforcement in 1991. I will alway cherish the times that I spent with you and being taught at a very early age. It made me very proud to serve as an officer and only hope that I was half the gentleman you were.

Your service is honored today, the 42nd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

My fondest memory of my father was that he always bought my brother and I a toy every week when he got paid, and he worked in a Blacksmith shop and always made us toys. Even though I lost my father when I was only six I still can see his face and remember how much he loved me. I will always remember Him.
