I will never forget that morning at work. I felt as if someone had punched me in the stomach. Cathy was a great person and I enjoyed working with her very much. She was one of the few people who came to visit me when I got sick and was in the hospital but seeing her smiling face made the stay much better. Her loss is felt not only by the Imperial Beach Station but by the entire Patrol. No matter how much time passes I will always remember you when I pass by East Spooner's and when I pass the flag on the way home to the station. Rest in peace Catherine. "Honor First."

I never met Agent Hill, but in reading the reflections I got a good idea of Agent Hill and her dedication, commitment and devotion in serving this great country. Agent Hill was described as having a lot of pride to serve. Agent Hill, this country was equally proud to have you serve in this organization. Rest In Peace.

Rest in peace and I am praying for your family. I attended the memorial honoring every officer that was killed while on duty in the year 2002 held in Washington D.C. in May of 2003. Agent Catherine Mary Hill was honored as was my brother Agent Eloy Hernandez.
Once again, rest in peace.

Cathy was my best friend. We were American Airlines Flight Attendant's together before she proudly became a Border Patrol Agent. She was gutsy, had a HUGE heart, loyal to the core, and was very proud to serve her country. I hope I will meet up with her when my time is up. She would always counsel people who were afraid to start something new to "JUST DO IT."

Agent Hill your service to humanity with courage and devotion is the stuff that heros are made of.
You are a hero and you will never be forgotten.
My wife is a twin and she too lost her sister and in all my years of law enforcement I never quite felt the same sadness and pain that I did they day I had to tell her that her sister was gone.
It is the same sadness we all feel when an officer falls and they are gone.
We do go on though and we honor your memory and your courage.
Rest in peace.

Retired police officer.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).

We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.

These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

I met Cathy on Thanksgiving night of 2001. In just the few hours that I had the pleasure to meet with her, I found her to be genuinly kind and caring. We talked about her career, and the her love of dogs. She was very proud, and excited about her Border Patrol duty. She left such an impact on me that she convinced me to continue to persue my dream of becoming a Law Enforcment Officer, and applied with the Border patrol the following spring. It brought me great pain when I found out though the local news in San Diego, that she had died in the line of duty. My deepest regrets and condolences to her family and fellow officers.

Another officer has fallen but not in vain. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers of Agent Hill. May you find strength in your heart and may the Lord comfort you during this time.

Cathy was my twin sister. I will miss her more than words can say. But, she was very proud to serve her country as a Border Patrol Agent. She died how she lived, without any fear. I know that she has moved on to bigger and better things. How many times do we hear that "only the good die young." I think there is a reason for that. I think God calls these people early because they have important work to do elsewhere! I know that Cathy is someone's guardian angel! Some day we will see each other again Cathy. Thank you to everyone who left messages!

To the family of Agent Catherine Hill. She will be missed but not forgotten. She is a true hero. Thanks for your faithful service Catherine. Now rest in peace.

Agent Hill,

Thank you for your devotion to duty and taking up the sword for those who cannot. You bravely dedicated to yourself to a dangerous and often thankless job, made harder by politicians who neither understood nor appreciated how much harder they made it. Thank you for serving on the border of these great United States and doing your part.

I never had the privilege of meeting Agent Hill in person. However I had "met" her via the internet and spoken to her on the phone as well as communicating by e-mail.

When I heard that a local Border Patrol Agent had been killed in a single car accident, I had no idea that I knew the decedent until I saw her lovely picture.

How tragic that this bright young woman's life ended so suddenly and prematurely. May she Rest in Peace.
