I saddens me to hear of another Officer down. We just lost one of our own so I can imagine the pain your brothers and sisters of the Baltimore City Police Department are feeling. IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS THAT WE AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT FAMILY HAS LOST ANOTHER MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY. A VAST NUMBER OF PEOPLE AUTOMATICALLY THINK THAT POLICE OFFICERS ARE JUST ANOTHER JOB THAT IS DONE FOR 8 HOURS AND GO HOME, THOSE OF US WHO KNOW THAT IS NOT THE CASE THAT EVERYTIME WE LEAVE HOME THERE IS A CHANCE THAT WE MAY NOT RETURN. BUT WE CHOSE THIS PROFESSION FOR A SIMPLE REASON AS I AM SURE OFFICER SHEFFIELD HAS, AND THAT IS TO PROTECT FELLOW CITIZENS AND HELP THOSE WHENEVER POSSIBLE. OFFICER SHEFFIELD PASSED AWAY WHILE RESPONDING TO ASSIST A FELLOW OFFICER. I AM SURE THAT SHE LOVED HER JOB, HER FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN BLUE AND DIED DOING WHAT SHE LOVED DOING.
