Reflections for Park Ranger Kristopher William Eggle
On this, the one-year anniversary of your passing, I wanted to say thanks for your sacrifice. I have to come to know your parents a little and am proud of what they do in your memory and to help others. You served with honor!

Thank you Kris. We as Rangers will miss you. The National Parks have lost a great guardian. Thank you.

What a tragedy! Such a fine young man and an honorable officer. We are blessed to have such brave men and women like the USPS Rangers, who work dangerous jobs, for low pay and often with little equipment or personnel.
I pray for him, his family, friends, colleagues and fellow rangers.
He now patrols the streets of Heaven with St. Michael. God Bless and stay safe.

I was on vacation when you were taken from the ranks. I only wish I could have been there to even the score! Your wonderful parents and the FOP are fighting the good fight in your memory, justice will be served. To a fellow cop and Eagle scout, God bless.

This is a tribute to my beautiful son Kristopher William Eggle. On August 9, 2002 his life was cut short by someone bent on bringing evil into our world. Even though this murderer accomplished his task, he could not ever really "kill" the magnificence of my son. Kris was a beacon of light who touched everyone he contacted. From the time he was a small boy through his last day on earth, he made a difference with his goodness, love, respect of everyone and everything, his spirit of adventure, his strong Christian values, leadership, and integrity. We miss him terribly and always will, but we also know that someday we will meet him again and he will again surround us with his love! We are one day closer to him with each day that passes. Goodbye, my darling son. I will "see you later." You will forever remain in our hearts.

You had only to meet Kris once to know he was a special person. He was in my class at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, and within days of our arrival, Kris emerged as a leader, a friend, and a great ranger. We were all blessed to have known him, and his memory will live on in all of us. His love for the job, his energy, and his friendship will serve as an inspiration for me for the rest of my life.

I know we did not know each other, but our same uniform made us brothers. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about you. We will miss you. Thank you for your service to this country and the National Park Service. We will never forget you. Till another day, my brother.

Kris and I are from the same small town in MI. I went to Middle and High School with Kris. We may be the only 2 from our graduating class to have made a career in Law Enforcement. All the good things you have heard and read about Kris are true. He really was a terrific guy. This really is a great tragedy for our little hometown. I hope they do a special memorial to remember our hometown hero. To my childhood friend, and my fellow Law Enforcement brother, I can only say thanks, and Rest In Peace.

Kris was an all-around GREAT guy, a hero. I met Kris while attending the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Kris served as the class president for NPRI-203. He spent many extra hours assisting fellow classmates that were struggling with academics. No matter what the situation, Kris would just smile and jump right in.... Kris truely loved the National Park Service and being an US Park Ranger (Law Enforcement). US Park Rangers are a unique breed, often having worked several years as police officers before attending FLETC. Kris and I would often talk about the "war on drugs", Kris would share stories of seizures of several tons of drugs and I would share my exploits as a narcotics investigator in Washington D.C. Kris will surely be missed by the Law Enforcement family of the National Park Service.

I used to wear that gray/green uniform with the arrowhead patch on the sleeve....I too was proud to be a National Park Service Law Enforcement Ranger. I never knew Ranger Eggle but still have friends who work with the NPS. I'm so sorry to hear about Ranger Eggle's death. People don't generally think of park rangers as LE officers but they have one of the most diversified positions in law enforcement. Thank you Ranger Eggle for patrolling our National Parks and for giving your life to protect our country. To your family, may God give them the strength, support and courage they need to get through this time. There are many who have lost loved ones in the line of duty who will be there for you. Ranger Kris Eggle will have his name placed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial wall with the other heroes who went to heaven before him. God bless you & keep you.
