Sgt. C.Smith
Springfield Twp P.D.

Another tragic loss for Ohio's brotherhood. What disturbs me the most is that the Sunday Columbus Dispatch had a small 2 inch by 3 inch article about your death stuffed in the back of our Metro section. Why not front page, are the lives of officers not worthy? God forbid one of us make a mistake and it is all over the news. When will the media come to the realization that our sacrifices and those of so many other soldiers (military and police) are the reason they still have their first amendment rights, why can't they honor us as they "honor" corrupt government officials that take the front page over and over again. It saddens me deeply to hear of your loss or the loss of other officers. God bless and peace be with your family.

Detective Steven A. Garavuso
Pataskala Division of Police

Eric was an easy going guy everytime I booked a prisoner into the Massillon City Jail. He always seemed to have a smile on his face. I never heard him complain about the stress we as officers face on a daily basis. Thank You Eric for your positive attitude. You served the community well. Rest in Peace.

Detective Steve Johnson
Jackson Twp. Police Canton, OH

My thougths and prayers are with Patrolman Eric Taylor's wife, children, family, friends and co-workers. I too was left to raise two small children on my own after my husband was killed.
