I said a little prayer today for Patrolman Steward and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 152nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace

Patrolman Steward, today marks the 148th anniversary of your tragic death. Your department has changed considerably over the years, but the job remains much the same and I'm sure even today there are cops stationed at collapsed buildings, keeping watch for looters, thrill seekers or the simply curious. One can never tell what will happen when on the simplest of assignments. Your efforts are appreciated to this day and you are NOT forgotten.
God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.
