Reflections for Police Officer Jessica Ann Nagle-Wilson

The Command Officers of Green Oak Twp wish to express our deepest sympathy for the loss of Officer Wilson. It tears us all up to think that an officer, of any age or gender could lose their life over such a trivial and mundane run as an unleashed dog. But, we all know going in that this is a possiblilty.

As a firearms instructor and a former instructor at the Oakland Police Academy, I think I can speak for all of us, just how proud we are that she had the mindset to take immediate action and return fire. She undoubtedly saved other lives by incapacitating the suspect! She took her training seriously.

Officer Jessica Wilson will be missed.

Sgt Ron Crowe, President
Green Oak Police Command Officers Association

Each day we go forth to uphold the oath we swore to our country we try not to think that we may not return home to our loved ones. Jessica went forth and served her community and our country with the enthusisim of her youth only to be taken away while she still had so much to offer. What a tragedy to lose such a fine officer in such a senseless way, but aren't they all senseless deaths? Her memory lives on in each of us who strive to perform our duties in a way that exemplifies what Jessica stands for. To her family and the Hazel Park Police Department know that the thoughts and prayers of all who carry a badge are with you. To Matthew her husband may God give you the strength to carry on and know that Jessica is there with you now and for always.

Till we all meet for muster in the presence of the Lord. Stay Safe

No words can justify Jessica's death. She was an amazing police officer who died doing what she loved. We are all so proud of her. I pray that God can give everyone the strength to get through this and I know Jess is wiping away our tears.

Jess, I have always loved you as I love my sisters. You will always be in my heart and I will love you forever.

I can never forgive, and I will NEVER forget.

Jessica was a beautiful person. I have only met her on a couple of occassions because my significant other works with her husband in Detroit, but from what I could see and hear of her she is going to be missed greatly. She has taken her life to protect others from a terrible person. I feel for the family and others close to her as they lost a wonderful life.

Matthew,
I know mere words will never fill the void in your heart that is left when we lose one's mate. No one will ever be able to replace Jessica. She is one of God's Angels. But know that she will never truly leave you. She will be forever young in the heart of every person she touched. But mostly she will be with the person she gave her heart to, you Matthew. And that is one thing that no one in this world can ever take away from you. I'm so sorry you are going through this. But please know that we are all here for you. You are not alone.

Jessica,
You are now in the safest place, God's own hands. No one can ever hurt you again. Please watch over those still walking the beat down here. Thank you, Jessica.

Inadequate, impoverished words
We burden with our heart's lament;
Since silence serves the sorrowed soul,
We sorrowed stand, in reverence -

In sympathy - in Canada.

To the husband and fellow brother in blue of Jessica,
May the sadness of your loss protect you on the long journey you are about to endure. It's hard enough to loose a fellow officer but the loss of a spouse is unimaginable to me.
God bless your heart and soul.

I have lost two friends during my watch. One of the hardest things to do during this time is to believe we can go on like before. We must remember that if it is our time, there is nothing we can do. Let us use these courageuos deaths as a tool of what to expect when we are out there. Thank you for your service, Rest In Peace.

Officer WKR
WPD

I stand and salute you Officer Wilson and the family members you left behind. Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country and the Constitution that we live by.

As I visit this site from time to time, I see ordinary people doing extrodinary feats of Heroism, Bravery, Pride and Valor. Jessica's family lost a wonderful person, Hazel Park lost a cop that cannot be replaced by a uniform, we all lost a friend. To your family, be proud of Jessica's memory. Keep that memory alive for your strength and all of ours. God Bless Jessica, her husband and her family, may you all find the strength to endure this un-imaginable loss.
