Reflections for Police Officer Jon Clifton Cook

We are deeply saddened to read of another officers death. May God bless those left behind. Rest in peace blue angel.

To the Cook family, the men and women of the San Franciso Police Department I grieve with you for the lost of our very own, OFFICER JOHN COOK. As a police officer we are faced with uncertainties daily but our life speaks for us. It is comforting to know that Officer John Cook loved his family and his job first. Together we stand and divided we fall. We're divided from JOHN today but he's on a new assignment on the streets of gold in heaven. May GOD be with you all in the days, weeks, months and years to come during your time of sorrow.

To the Family and Friends of Police Officer John Cook:

On behalf of the 1500 members of the N.Y.S.Supreme Court Officers Association we wish to extend our condolences to the Cook Family and the SFPD. The greatest sacrifice a Police Officer can make is to lay down his LIFE for his Fellow Officers. Police Officer Cook did not hesitate to take that "PATH". We Honor Officer Cook and we will not forget His SACRIFICE! God Bless Officer Cook and all the Law Enforcement Officers who do "THE JOB" everyday.

Cook,
I never told you how much I looked up to you, how much you inspired me. I always thought there would be more time. It was because of your support and encouragement that I was able to make it through the Academy and FTO. You were a shinning example of what an Officer should be to all who served with you. I find comfort in the fact that someday I will see you again and that you are watching over all of your brothers and sisters who miss you so very much.

Officer Cook, may you rest in PEACE. My prayers go out to the other officers that are left behind to drag through the waste of the earth. I am sure you will reach down to aid them. RIP Brother for you have gone home to a place far from here where there is no pain, suffering, abuse, sickness, or drugs. You have fought a good fight, now rest.

Rest in peace, Officer Cook. I am so terribly sorry for your department, your family and friends. May God comfort them through this heartbreaking journey.

A Policeman's Prayer

When I start my tour of duty God wherever crime may be,
As I walk the darkened streets alone, let me be close to Thee.

Please give me understanding with both the young and old.
Let me listen with attention until their story's told.

Let me never make a judgment in a rash or callous way,
but let me hold my patience; let each man have his say.

Lord, if some dark and dreary night, I must give up my life. Lord, with your understanding love, protect my children and wife.
