Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman David John Scott

I've seen too many officers make the ultimate sacrifice throughout the years. Being the son of a cop you grow up with it and it means a lot more then to the average citizen, it's something they'll never understand. Being an officer you have an extended family throughout the world and it hurts where ever and when ever it happens. But when it happens to a brother you work with, it hurts most of all. You know it could happen to anyone of us at anytime but never think it will. God be with you my brother, I am proud to have served with you here in Clarksville and will never forget you....May you rest in peace

Family and Friends,
Our hearts are saddened once again as we see another hero has given his life. Our prayers are with you.

Dave was my 1st FTO when I started at the Clarksville Police Department, and I learned more from him in that month and in the time we served together on our shift then I will probably ever realize. Dave got me through an incident I thought at the time was my worst moment in my life and I will always be gratefull to him for that. He died doing what he loved, and that is one comfort we can have.

We are not invincible, just brave. Honor everyday that we have with each other. The one that you are at odds with today, you may grieve and cry for tomorrow. Live life to its fullest everyday. Rest in peace brother.
