Reflections for Sergeant Jaime Primera Rodriguez
I can remember way back when I was first wondering if I should go into Law Enforcement. Jaime was one of the first officers that I got to know well and encouraged me to follow my dream. He was always polite, sincere, and encouraging. Now, over 10 years later, I must mourn his loss. Not only did we lose a good officer, we lost a good person. He will not be forgotten. To his family, I wish to express my deepest sympathy and want you to know as I type this I can look up on my wall and observe a plaque that states 'There is a special place in heaven for the family of a Police Officer.' I believe this to be true and that someday know you will be reunited.

JAIME
Every morning I await your call to let us know where you will be working, I look out the window to see if you have arrived, I glance across my desk to watch you working in your office. I miss your "Good morning's" on the phone, I miss your smile when you walk in the door, I miss your long messages on the answering machine and believe it or not I miss you shredding paper when I am on the phone. I console myself with the wonderful memories and the signs you left us to let us know you are happy and at PEACE! I will keep a candle lit for you "JAIME" as a symbol that you are among us lighting our way. We will continue to work in your honor and make you proud! I will keep your office nice and tidy; your truck washed and cleaned; and your evidence in proper order as you would have done. Your screen saver messages are up and going except we added JAIME P. RODRIGUEZ "OUR HERO, OUR BROTHER AND OUR FRIEND".
WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH!
GOD BLESS YOU "BROTHER" - QUE DIOS TE BENDIGA "HERMANO"

Mrs. Rodriguez and family,
I am sorry for your loss and I hope that through Christ your family will continue your lives. I have been in Law Enforcement now for two years and that is something that we all as peace officers have got to be willing to encounter. I know that your husband was a brave man. Anyone that will put themselves in that uniform is there for a cause and we all know that it is not the money. I Love everyday that the good lord allows me to serve the public and I know that your husband was the same way. Remember the good that your husband did and know that somewhere in his carrer that he did alot of good for people and that he has gone to a better place. If I can do anything let me know, you have got my E-mail address. Officer Britt Godsey

To All the WONDERFULLY CARING Law Enforcement Brothers and Sisters of our Little brother, Jaime Rodriguez:
We want to say that words can not express the overwhelming Love and Support that you have shown to all of us, his family. The outpouring of love we have experienced has been Tremendous. Our prayer for you is that "The Lord keep his protective hand over you as you do what He has called you to do." Please continue to pray for us during this difficult time. God Bless All of You.
Jaime's Brothers & Sisters in Texas
To the family and friends of Sgt. Jaime Rodriguez, please accept our Department's heartfelt prayers and sympathies at this time of sorrow.
On a personal note, Jaime's death really hit home with me. Although I did not know him, Jaime is my "brother" in many ways. I, along with many others, do the same job as he along another stretch of the US-Mexico border. Far too often we start to think of our jobs as "routine", which tends to breed complacency. Jaime's untimely passing will hopefully be a tragic reminder to us all that when dealing with border security and narcotics trafficking, our job is anything but routine. He did NOT die in vain.
Rest in peace my brother.

To Jaime, it was an honor and a great experience being your friend, let me start by saying that while the other officers and I were just seconds away from you it seemed like an eternety trying to get to you. It hit me like a ton of bricks after seeing you just a few seconds before you entered the bus, you waived goodbye to me, who knew it would be our last. Thank you for showing me the true meaning of frienship. You will never be forgotten. God Bless You My Brother. God Bless your Family * C.M.*

Family and Friends,
This week as we honored our law enforcement community we were saddened to learn of another loss. Our hearts are grieving with you. As we watched the thin blue line displayed at our nations capital we sadly knew that another officer would soon give his life for our protection. I am so very sorry and I hope you find a peace that is beyond your understanding.
