Tomorrow is your anniversary, 6 yrs now, but it seems like yesterday. We love you and miss you. One thing that has stayed with me is that the greatest honor you can give some one is to take what you most admire about that person and to try do the same with your life. You were an Angel in life, your work with the handicapped kids, every day in every way you touched some one.
If I can be half the person you were, I will be blessed.
As you know Fedex has sponsored the Unity Tour, but this year I will be there to send off the riders on May 9th. I hope in some way this helps to give back to those in Blue that dedicate their lives for the rest of us. Please watch over them.. Brooklyn and I love you.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

Krissey,
It's been awhile since I visited this sight. I thought it would be easier now, but an overwhelming sadness still fills that hole in my heart and the tears still come. And of course Brooklyn is by my side trying to ease the pain. I still remember when you brought her home and tried to convince us that this rescued Pit, was part Labrador. You were always rescuing something or someone. Not a day goes by that I dont think of you, we love you and miss you.

My dear friend, Kristen. You are still missed everyday. Thank you for taking care of us. I know you have shown Luke the way and you two are making everyone up there laugh. I ask now that you and Luke show Bucky the ropes up there. He's a comedian just like you were. Take care of him and Luke for me will ya! Love you always.

Kristin, I have many fond memories of you from elementary school through high school. I remember your fun birthday parties and your love of animals. Even though we lost touch after high school and 13 years have passed, I still remember you fondly and am sad to know that you are no longer with us. My best friend Jill passed away from leukemia on Thanksgiving. Please look after her. Thank you. Sincerely, Stefanie (Roberts) Williams

I can’t believe five years has passed since your death. I can’t help but think where you would be now, in your career and personal life. Would you be at Special Opps, maybe K-9------married, with kids? Although we have all gone about our lives, we will never forget you and the sacrifice you made- NEVER.
Rest easy Kristin.
Love always, Shift 5

It's hard to believe that five years have passed since you were taken from us. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday that we were working together. I think of you and your family often, especially this time of the year. You are missed dearly by all of us.

Kristin, 5 years have passed, but rest assured, you are not forgotten. Kristin, last week, I lost another co-worker, Luke. He was on my shift. I now have to struggle with his loss, just like I've struggled with yours all these years. Please give me the strength to get through this. I know you have been watching over me these past 5 years. I am now blessed to have 2 angels in heaven watching over me. Take care of Luke up there for me. I miss you.
