Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Kristin Marie Pataki

Many new faces come and go through the Park Police doors. But your presence is constant. You often remind me of how short life really is. Thank you for reminding me that all the small, petty things are not that important.
Keep watch over your mom and sister.

Think of you often and about what we'd be doing now. Miss you everyday. Thank you for the short time we had together. You will be with me for a lifetime.

Still haven't forgotten about you Kristin. Gods Speed!

It has been a while since I have visited the ODMP site. Every officer on here is connected. Regardless of rank or assignment...there is one thing that makes them one. That one thing is a piece of metal that is worn over our hearts. It physically doesnt weigh much at all. However, emotionally it is heavier than one could ever imagine. We lost another brother last month during the Bio-Tech Convention portests.

To Officer Pataki's family:
Again I have been truly touched by reading your reflections.
Please know that Kristin is not forgotten. Please know that you are not forgotten.
...and will never be forgotten.

It is not how these officers died that made them heros....It is how they lived that made them heros.

Thank you all for the kind words and remembering Kristin. She was an extradinary individual that loved her family and her job. She was proud to be a Peace Officer.
May she watch over and protect you.
God needed an Angel and took ours, but she will be in our hearts forever.

Three years after your loss, we suffered the same fate. It is ironic how much you had in common with Keith. I hope you have met him in Heaven buy now. I'm sure he's made you laugh. To your family - I'm truly sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to see a loved one so young go so soon. Trust always in the Lord and you will be reunited one day. May you rest in peace Officer Pataki.

Just visited the NLEOM this past week for police week. I made a tracing of your name and it is now proudly displayed in my locker at work. Watch over us and keep us safe.

Well Officer Pataki, as I mentioned on May 4th, your memory was riding with us today.
It was quite a sight. Hundreds of motors making their way to the memorial.
Just wanted to let you know you are not forgotten.

It's so hard to believe that it has been 3 years already. It feels like yesterday sometimes. We went to your site yesterday, it was good to see your Mom and sister. We have been worried about them this past year. Rebecca, Megan and I miss you so much. Thank you for keeping us safe; we love you, and will celebrate your life again on the 13th at the Candelight Vigil. Tell your Dad "HI" from us, I sincerely hope that he is at peace now.

Ride Along

So you don’t like the ticket I just gave you.
Well, come take a ride with me.
A trip to the scene of an accident.
Where a person now struggles for freedom, and for life.
All because someone was in a hurry, or late for work.

You say you didn’t call me and you don’t need my help.
That this is a family matter and none of my business.
Come take a ride with me.
Where a child now cowers in the nearest corner, or bedroom closet.
They cover their ears and ask god “ please make them stop”.
Still think no one needs my help.

You’ve said all we do is eat donuts and drink coffee.
Come take a ride with me.
On the countless days after taking four calls in an hour.
We think we have time to sit down for dinner.
Only to be call away again.

You think we’re cold and have no heart.
Well, come take a ride with me.
To a place where the pipes now lay to rest.
A brother or sister who gave their life, for someone like you.
A place where tears fall like rain for their family,
For our family, and yes even for you.
Yeah, come take a ride with me.
