I researched this hero and found out that he was a Texas Ranger from 1919-1920, he was a special ranger in 1917. His son Richard Crews "Red"Hawkins was also a Texas Ranger. The Dry Dock Robbers got away with $6,000.00 still researching if they were ever brought to justice

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 82nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect, not even 82 years.
Rest In Peace
