Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Con Burns
Deputy Burns, today marks the 79 anniversary since you made your sacrifice. I have read all of the other reflections, and don't know what to really say. I guess to start, I am your Great-Grandson. I wish I could have met you, but that was not in the cards. I cannot tell or express how proud of you I am. You made the ultimate sacrifice, and you are a hero to all of the citizens you served. I hope it brings your soul comfort that you are not the only one in our family to be holding the line. I have stepped up on a state level, and now I have stepped up on the federal level. I only hope that I make you and our family proud.
You are never forgotten, and will always be a Hero.
Love and Respect,
Your Great-Grandson

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 68th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
