Of note: a not proven suspect in death of Constable Larkin Hope in 1898 was killed in 1906 during the Colorado County Texas feud; ironically the suspect on Feb 22, 1896 shot and killed a suspect named Tucker; Tucker had killed the suspect's brother in law Constable Jacob B Burrttschell at Alleyton Texas April 3, 1894. Officer Burrttschell is Officer buried St Roach Catholic Cemetery, Mentz, Colorado County Texas. http://www.coloradocountyhistory.org/obits/b/burttschell.htm. Tucker was senteced to 20 years in prison but trial was reversed. As noted above Tucker was killed Feb 22, 1896  by brother in law of officer ;

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 115th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
