I said a little prayer today for Patrolman McKeon and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 135th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Rest In Peace

As one who does research regarding natural / man-made horrific disasters, I have to say that this incident ranks up there in the U.S. Top 10. So many of the victims were those who were actually trampled to death, rather than dying from burns/smoke inhalation. When panic set in, Patrolman McKeon and others tried in vain to assist with the exiting, in an orderly fashion. News reports stated that as many as 100 bodies were actually "unrecognizable fused-together molds."
Patrolman McKeon, may Your Soul Rest - In - Peace.
