Here we are another year gone by without you with us. In just two days it will be 11 years since you were taken from us that dreadful night. 11 years without you bright smile and kind words, 11 years without you here to protect us. I remember a time long ago when we were very young, and you were strong and acted as a protector at that time, and I always felt safe around you, then when you became a deputy sheriff I knew you were doing what you were suppose to do, even though I always worried about you. I know that you may not be here to protect us in person but that you watch over us even still everyday. This year you would have been 51 years old, gee that sounds old, but it still would have been nice to say Happy Birthday to you just one more time. I know you already know this but I am going to say it again and again until we meet again - I love you and miss you and you will never be forgotten. Your service was not in vain. Your time here on earth may have been short but the impact you made on everyone you came in contact with will last forever. Love you my brother.

Robert, I never met you in person but I had the honor of meeting your sister. She is loving, very kind and considerate.(rarely found these days)
Her heart is on her sleeve. I can't help but to believe you both share similar characters: which in my book is a big thumbs up! Your memory is very much alive in how ofter she speaks about you. You truly was taken way too soon.

Tanner, I love and miss you very much. I miss seeing you and talking with you. I miss the happy times we've shared together and all the times we can't. Our time together in this life was short, but the love we had for each other will last an eternity. Thanks for watching over me. Love you and miss you brother.

While reading some of the reflections, I noticed one of them saying Happy Birthday. Then noticed the date. Happy Birthday Deputy Tanner. Keep close watch on us on the streets and inside of the fences.

It's coming up on 9 years since you were taken from us. I still find myself thinking and talking about you ofen. I see your picture everytime I walk downstairs, a picture of how I remember you, with a great smile and having a good time. I was at your old house the other day for work, and I remembered all the good times we all had there. I will always remember, Miss ya.

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

I took your father and mother in law out the other night for a beer. We had a wonderful visit. They told me a funny story about S-71 stopping by their house. I realized how much they love and care for all of us. Anyone wearing a badge is family to them. Texted your wife, told her we were all thinking about her.
