Rest easy, Brother, you are not forgotten.
Monroe Co. Sheriff Dept. Bloomington, In.l
December 28, 2003
I had the pleasure of working with Officer Mike Johns from 1996-2000 while working at Coppell Pd. Mike was my training Officer and a true friend to everyone in the department. It is a tragic loss for the whole department and city but he has left a little of him behind in all of us that worked with him. He was a true professional and passed on his knowledge and professional demeanor to all that worked around him. My prayers are with his family and all who knew Mike.
Thanks for making all of us that worked around you better people. You will never be forgotten.
Officer Bill Knack
Palomar Police Department, Ca.
I had the privilege of having Mike as an FTO and later working closely with him in the Traffic Division. He had a great sense of humor and we laughed together on many occasions. He truly cared about his job and his family. Rest in Peace Mike.
Officer John McArdle
Coppell PD
Michael was a 20 year veteran of law enforcement. Before he was with the Coppell P.D. he served with Desoto, TX P.D.
He had received a life saving bar, and was a Field Training Officer.
He was brave, honorable, funny, perceptive and if you were in trouble he would defend you to his death. He adored his daughter from his first marriage, Heather. She said once, "Dad, you're cool." Coming from a teenager that is quite a compliment. He was friends with his ex-wife and her husband. He was my best friend and he made sure that I knew that he loved me. That's the kind of man he was.
Mrs. Michael Johns (Gale)
I remember Mike for his wonderful sense of humor. He always made us laugh. But he was a dedicated officer who loved his job. We will miss him.
Sgt. Boyd R. Norton
DeSoto Police Department
To Officer Johns family and friends my heart and prayers are with you. May God Bless you.

Family and Friends,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Each time I come to this website I want to see no new names added. It breaks my heart that another family has to go through this grief. As you know there are no words to ease the pain but I so know that sharing memories will be healing for you. Share them and smile, remember and you will see a little joy. I am praying that God will give you peace and comfort beyond your understanding.
