Reflections for Police Officer Candace Renee Ripp
I am a police officer currently assigned as the commander of the Central Sector. I come from the old police school where family, pride and honor meant something. I consider Candace as a member of my family and will carry the loss with me. I did not have the pleasure of working with Candace but knew her due to the police family. I take pride in knowing that she shared my beliefs when it came to the profession.

I only met you once, Candice. But you being a Texas girl, as I am, we hit it off. You seemed very kind, warm, and had a great laugh. You enjoyed life, and your friends. You have gone to a better place, and I'm sure you will be smiling down on all your family and friends. May you rest in peace. I feel for the family, and I'm so sorry. God bless you all.

What could possible be written to express the hurt and sadness of all that knew Candace. A kind heart with a beautiful smile and the biggest brown eyes I've ever seen. She loved watching Andy Griffith, taking bubble baths while studying law, having scotch at a beer joint, playing a round of golf on HOT afternoons, riding her "scooter" on country roads, boasting about her daughter and grand-daughter, staying up late and getting up late, she loved her friends, her family, her sons (Mickey Ripp and Kaiser)-dogs, her fellow officers, and me. My life has been touched because Candace Renee Ripp was part of it, her memory will live thru me for the rest of my life. Peace to Valen and Rylee, Gigi and DeDe, Ferrell, Laurel, Brett and their families. Aunt Robin and family too... To her friends in Nashville, gerst haus once a month- she would want it that way.

I was saddened to learn of the death of anther officer. I have not yet found an answer to why an officer is taken in from us when they have such a bright career and future. I am praying for you and your family. I have seen first hand the trauma and questions that come from an officer being taken. I am sure that you will be keeping the "streets of gold" safe for all. You will be missed by all who still remain. You will not be forgotten...

DEAR OFFICER RIPP,
"I had not forsaken Him. I did not forsake them. I was there as they fell, and as they rose to eternal joy. I listened to their anger, answered their questions and showed them why they had been created. Not to end that way, but to live with Me forever." AUTHOR UNKNOWN

The Morrisville PD sends our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to the Ripp family as well as those who knew and worked with her. Peace and God Bless.
To Officer Ripp's family,
I have only been around this department for a little over a year. The short time that I have known Candace, was very meaningful to me, because, no matter how good or bad her day was going, she always made me feel like i was someone important to her. She had a fantastic personality, and got along great with everyone she came in contact with. Those of us at the 911 room, loved her very much. She will dearly be missed. Our Prayers are with you Candace, and with all of your family as well.

My deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Ripp. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Though I did not know Officer Ripp, I am certain that I know why she put on her uniform and went to work everyday. She made a difference in people's lives and for that we should all be grateful. She now walks a beat on heaven's streets and watches over us all.
A special note to Candace's daughter: Always be proud of your Mom and what her chosen profession was. If you see a female officer, stop and tell her about your Mom. You'll be sure to get a hug from this family in blue. Live a good life and make your Mom proud of you.
Godspeed, Candace.

It is important, but difficult sometimes, to describe who someone was. If you did not know Candace, perhaps this will help you to know her through my reflection of who she was to me. I first met her when she was a recruit at the training academy. She always gave her best despite the severity of the training. As an Officer, she often participated in the state Police & Fire Games and other athletic competitions. She was a proud Mother and Grandmother. Many years ago she accompanied her then young daughter to karate classes where they worked out together for a time. She constantly sought self-improvement and was currently a successful student at law school. Whenever you met her she would greet you with a big smile and a hug. Her supervisors and peers attest to the fact that she always did her job and well. She had many close friends in the Metro Police Department. She was one of the girls and one of the guys with a unique personality that made her a welcome part of any group of associates. Of our friend it must be said: "She was the friendliest, kindest, and most human of us all and will forever be missed by everyone who knew her."

Dear Family,
Words I know will not help but do know that there are many people who do care. They many times don't know what to do to help so you MUST ASK. I know some of your pain for my husband was also killed in the median while assisting at a minor 1 car accident. Know that you now have a new family who will be by your side today and the years to come....COPS......just reach out your hand.
