I love you and miss you Dad. Never has someone touched my life like you. I wish that there would have been more time for us and your grandchildren. But I thank God for the time we had. Save me a place......I'll be home soon. I promise not to be late Pop.

Parole Officer
Kansas Department of Corrections

I have never had the priviledge of meeting Officer Johnson, but after meeting one of his best friends, who happened to be one of his sons, I know he must be a great man. It only takes a kind word to someone in need to show your true colors. Thank you.
Being a survivor and a mother, I can appreciate more fully such a sacrifice for innocence. There is no greater love. I pray you know that others will always be greatful and remember your father through your life and examples of love and service learned from him. May God be with your Dad and you until you are together again. Families are Forever.

Shalon Gurr Hansen

I spent 6 years of my Law Enforcement career with the Junction City Police Department and had the pleasure of knowing and working with Officer Alex Johnson; "The Gentle Giant". He was a great man, enjoyable to be around, and wonderful to talk to. My heart goes out to Linda and the children for their loss. Alex will be deeply missed.

Officer Brandon R. Grubbs
Riley County Police Department

Alex was a very kind and gentle man. In the years that I knew him and worked along side him we became friends. I never saw him angry. He was always smiling, as his picture shows, and was there to help everyone. His loss to the department, the community, and his family was a great tragedy. Alex walked the thin blue line and he did it with pride. Let us all remember that and he will always be with us

I was formerly with the JCPD and I remember Alex taking the Physical Agility test in the hiring process. He picked up the 185 pound "dummy" like nothing and ran across the gym with it. Alex was always a very kind individual and always had a smile. He was a true friend and will be missed by not only his family and fellow officers but by anyone whose life he touched throughout his 18 years. I will miss you Alex!

Thomas Wesoloski
