Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Billy Ray Walls, III

Billy,
You are a legend beyond all legends in this community. You are more than a hero, you're an angel. No words can describe how we all feel, both JCSO deputies and wives. The strength that everyone has is amazing and the will of Priscilla is the greatest of all. She is in good hands, I can assure you of that. I know that when we all wake you are the first thing we think of and the last before we go off into dreamland. Thank you for everything. Watch over your law enforcement family, and let them know you're still with them. They'll need the comfort sometime. We miss you Billy. Everyone does. Godspeed.

A Friend

Billy

I still havn't fully excepted what has happened , I'm still waiting for you to check me on the radio or receive a message from dispatch to signal 6 Deputy Walls on his cell phone . I will never go past the church at the county line were we would set and talk without thinking of you . I miss you and all the good times we had together , it was an honer to be considered one of your best friends , you were like a brother to me. It was very difficult putting the uniform on and going 10-8 for the first time after the incident but later in my shift that night I realized that you were still with me in spirit and that we had finally gotten our wish and were serving together.
God bless Priscilla , Kaley , Mr. and Mrs. Allison and family . Priscilla , I will always be there for you and Kaley . One day Kaley and I will set down and talk about Billy and share the many good times we had together and I will let her know what a wonderful, caring and loving father she had. My thoughts and prayers are also with Captain Chuck Morgan, Deputy Sammy Brown and Sheriff Joe Walker and the Jessamine County Sheriff's Department.

I REMEMBER JOKING AROUND WITH YOU THE MONDAY NIGHT BEFORE THE TRAGEDY THAT HAS AFFECTED ALL OF US. I WILL ALWAYS CHERISH THE TIMES THAT YOU LET US "DISPATCHERS" RIDE WITH YOU AND THE TIMES AT CENTRAL THAT WE ALL SHARED IN. YOU WILL TRULY BE MISSED BY ME. LIKE THE OTHERS HAVE STATED, ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO FOR PRISSY AND KAYLEE WILL BE DONE. GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR EXTENDED FAMILY AT JESSAMINE COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE. REST IN PEACE 762.

BILLY YOU WERE A GREAT FRIEND THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET AS YOU KNOW I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A POLICE OFFICER BUT DISPATCH IS THE CLOSEST I CAN GET IF I HAD EVER MADE IT TO THE STREETS I WOULD WANTED TO BE JUST LIKE YOU. YOU WERE AN OUTSTANDING OFFICER AND WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW YOU. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IF PRISSY AND KALEY EVER NEED ANYTHING I WILL BE THERE FOR THEM

Your funeral has come and gone. You would be so proud! I am overwhelmed at the support that was displayed. Prissy and Kaylie were so brave. We are back to work now and trying to catch our breath. It just doesn't seem right not to see you each day as I start my shift.
Today I passed your desk. The placks are taken down and just an empty space exists.I know you were there though. I can still hear your voice on the radio. 7-6-2 central. I used to always enjoy the drawn out numbers.
I am always going to miss the times we all shared. It just doesn't seem possible for this to be happening. It just doesn't. I know you will watch over us. I promise we will watch over Prissy and Kaylie always.

I WILL REMEMBER MOST ABOUT BILLY HIS DEDICATION TO HIS FAMILY (WIFE & DAUGHTER), AND TO HIS CAREER. HE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND HIS DUTIES TO HELP OUT SOME OF THE CITIZENS OF JESSAMINE COUNTY. HE WAS FUNNY, INTELLIGENT, AND EASY TO TALK TO. HE ALWAYS MADE SURE THAT WE(HIS DISPATCHERS) KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON NO MATTER WHAT HE WAS DOING. I WILL MISS HIM VERY MUCH(ESPECIALLY THE WAY HE SAID GOOD MORNING IN THE MORNINGS--HE'D SAY IT IN GERMAN, BUT IT ALWAYS SOUNDED SO FUNNY. GOODBYE BILLY, YOU ARE SADLY MISSED.

DISPATCHER K GRIFFITH
JESSAMINE COUNTY CENTRAL COMMUNICATIONS

Billy,

The hardest thing I have ever had to do was to give your "last call". You were not only a great officer but also a true friend. Your death has left a void in our life that nothing or no
one will ever be able to fill.
You will be missed.

DISPATCHER TAMMY DURHAM
JESSAMINE COUNTY 911

Gone but not forgotten, Billy Walls one of the finest people I have ever known.

His strength and determination was so strong. He overcame so much he was a real inspiration to me while we where in the academy.

Billy I will miss you. But i know we will see each other agin.

Deputy Sherif , Doug Thomas

O Father of all, I pray to thee for Billy whom we love but see no longer. Grant him peace; let light perpetual shine upon him; and, in thy loving wisdom and almighty power, work in him the good purpose of thy perfect will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Billy,
I will always keep you in my heart, thoughts and prayers. I made a promise to you that Keith and I will always be here for Prissy and Kaley and I meant it, so rest in peace my dear friend. We love you. Keith and Debbie

I worked with Billy for a coulple of years and during that time I remember that Bill was always one of the most well manered young men that we had hired in Lexington. He was always a yes sir or nor sir type. He never hesitated to take on any assignment given and was always wanting to do more.

Thanks Billy for all you did and paying the ultimate sacrifice. You will be missed!!!!!

Billy,
Today makes a week since we lost you. I can barely see to type through the tears. I still can't believe that it happened to one of "US". As many doors as we kicked in, as many pursuits as we were in, as many scuffles as we were in, our guys cleaning up the county and bringing law and order into every shadow and holler in Jessamine County. I still can't believe that it happened to one of "US"- We were "invincable" or so we thought- not that we were careless- WE JUST DIDN'T HAVE THE FEAR.

Now we have a gaping hole in our group. You were ripped away from us without warning- without a chance to say goodbye. Now all we have are our memories of the good times we had together and your precious Prissy and Kaley.
Now I make you this promise Brother, and you have never known me to lie, Anything that Prissy and Kaley need, I will see that they get it if I have to beg, borrow or steal it. I know that there was nothing more important to you in this world than your family and they will be taken care of.

As you know I left the Sheriffs Office a month ago for the laid back life at the Horse Park, but the brotherhood of "our group" stood unbreakable through this seemingly unbearable time- and you Billy- will ALWAYS be in the brotherhood. We're missing you 762!

Love you always Brother- Ballard 775

Pricillia and Kayla, you will always be part of our family and our prayers are with you. May God Bless you and all your family. Pricillia, Like I told you on Friday night before the services, if there is ever anything you need, don't hesitate to call, if I don't have it, we will find it somehow.

Billy, I just want to take this time to let you know how much we will miss you. You were a great law enforcement officer and friend. You have touched so many of our lives, your short time here. I will miss your smile and laughter. We are all so saddened to see you go, but we all know where you are and that you are looking over each and every one of us as we carry out the job you loved to do. We will miss you!!

To the Family and Friends of Billy Ray Walls III:
I never had the privilege of knowing Mr. Walls. I did however attend the Memorial Service. I just wanted to let you know that I have never seen anyone honored in such a wonderful way. The tears could not stop throughout the entire service. From the things people said I know he must have been an outstanding person. My father is a police officer and has had many close calls himself, one in particular quite similar. My heart goes out to all of you for your loss. He isn't truly lost. You will see him again. May God Smile Upon You.

To the family of Deputy Billy Walls,
I was so priviledged to attend the services on Saturday. I have represented our agency in times like these on several occasions. I don't think I have ever seen an officer receive a better tribute. The visitation, the funeral and graveside services were handled with class and distinction. And from what we heard, it was a fitting reflection of the person: Billy Walls. I was not fortunate to have known him personally, but I know he would have been proud of his family, fellow officers and all of those who participated. My good friend Chaplain Welsh said it best during the services, "When one of us is hurting, we all come running." I pray for those who are directly affected by this terrible loss and ask God to cradle this wife and child in His arms and hold them tight. Our condolences to the family , the Jessamine County SO and the community.

Officer David Pence
Richmond (KY) PD

The radio won't be the same without you. I am very thankful to have you to confide in. Billy, you know your always welcome to come for another ride, just hop in. Thank you for everything and I'll love you always, buddy.

Deputy Chad Powell, unit 740
Jessamine County Sheriff's Department

B.W.
B.W., I called you that the last time we talked. I know, you know, that I was with you. I was there and did not leave you. I just want you to know that I will take care of your wife and child as if they were my own. I will do yard work, wash dishes, and anything that I am asked. This I promise you, not because someone needs to, but I know you would do this for my wife and child. I wish I could change Tue. morning. I will never forget you, nor will I ever let the Law Enforcement community forget you. I will tell my children of the hero I knew.

Darb
Jessamine Sheriff

Billy,
You made the ultimate sacrifice not only for your community, but fellow Law Enforcement Officers. I hope we will all have your strength and courage in trying times. Your family will always be supported by your brothers in Law Enforcement. May God bring peace to everyone affected by this tragic loss. You and your family will always be in our hearts.
