Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Billy Ray Walls, III

Billy just wanted to say hey and things are good. We miss you and we are getting stronger.
To our brothers in Illinois, what a great thing to do, I pray your shift will see you home safe and the bad guys a nice new bed at county jail. Billy was a real go getter and got a lot of DUI's and made several traffic stops a night.

Well Billy I know you met Mom on saturday and knowing you, gave her the Grand Tour....we will miss her like we miss you, but at the same time know you're much happier up there. Hug her for me and tell her we are trying to 'pay it forward' in her honor and legacy, JUST LIKE YOU!
This never gets any easier.......
Hugs and prayers, Billy

I just found this page so I apologize for taking so long to write. Billy was a great guy to have as a frat brother and friend. Always had a smile and always in a good mood. He was the kind of person you loved to be around because he made it easy to be happy and forget your problems. Our time was to short together and it is sad that we didn'tt stay in touch like we should have. But to Billy's family and friends know he touched a lot of lives and I believe that everyone that knew him is a better person today because of it.

Like my friends in Round Lake Heights, Il., I too will dedicate my shift to your honor on 6/12/07. We are the gate keepers that God put on the earth to keep all in line. My thoughts are with your family and I do know that God will always look after them. Proud and honored by your tour of duty.

Deputy Walls-I came across your name tonight (6-8-07). I am off until Tuesday, June 12, 2007. I am dedicating my next shift in your honor. I printed your picture and department patch, as it will be in my shirt pocket on Tuesday as I patrol (1PM-11PM). WE will be making a bunch of traffic stops as I am a traffic/dui enforcement officer in the metro Chicago area. Keep an eye out for all of us on patrol. RIP Brother.........

Billy,
Buddy, it touched my heart to see the outpouring of support people have given you!! I know that you have to have been one of, if not THE greatest police officers, friends, father and husband I know! As you know, I think of and speak to you often!! It's funny to me to see all the other officers that have the feeling that you are always with us and watching over us! I say it's funny, because, I had never read all your reflections but I too have had that same feeling!! You were a great friend and you will be always missed!! Never feel your sacrafice was for nothing!! It was for everything, and the thoughts of you are carried with all your brothers in Law Enforcement daily as a reminder of the realities of this line of work!! You will never be forgotten, brother!!!

Hey Billy,

I was reading through some of the 5+ years of notes people have written to you. You know I feel really guilty that I haven't talked to your wife, Kayley or your Mom in such a long time. I hope they are all doing well. The loss of you, David Harmon and Michael Ann Dye (in a 4 month time span) was almost too much to bear. You know, I look at your picture and I see a man forever young. I look in the miror now and I see a middle aged man. Truly hard to believe.... Your dedication and devotion to your family and your job was second to none. You have made our families so proud. (Trust me you are a shining star, and we certainly need one!!). Although I feel a tremendous loss without you I can only imagine how Prissy, Kayley and your mother felt. Well my man, I'll visit soon. Continue the good work looking over the family.
You are certainly missed!

Take it easy,
Uncle Doug

Two officers were killed in the Carolina's last week. Both officers with kids both just working to support them. It brings back alot of fellings and sadness. I will say a prayer for them and thier family tonight. You will never be forgotten!

Hey Billy!
I got moved up to the JV basketball team. It was only for a couple of games though. Tomorrow is our last one and then I get to start softball. I can't wait for that. Dad got in a car accident the other night, it was pretty scarey, he might have to get surgery on friday. I'm just glad he's okay though.

Kelly is doing pretty good. She's starting to send in letters and stuff to colleges. Well we hope you are doing great and we love you.

Hey Billy! Merry almost Christmas! I hope your your Christmas is great. Dad's coming over tomorrow, he said he was just going to drop off our presents though. I guess he would rather spend it with his new girlfreind and her kids. It kind of makes me upset, but that's alright.

Kelly is doing good. She's getting even more excited about graduating and going to college. I'm going to miss her like crazy. But Chris is coming down for her graduation..and we are all SO excited about that! I can't wait to see him! Kelly and my mom all say hello and we all hope that your christmas is amazing. We love you!

Hey Billy....I haven't been on here in a while and thought I'd drop a line. Buntain and I were responding to a call not too long ago and when we went in I put the cuffs on this guy as soon as I got to him. We were investigating the call and when we were about to take him to jail, started to search him and he kept trying to pull away from me. Ends up he had a .22 pistol in his front waistband loaded and ready to go. Buntain and I said after it was over that we both had the hairs raise up on the back of our necks on the way there. We know it was you looking over us buddy. Thanks. I still have your picture button on my sunvisor to never forget. Take care Billy.

Well it's Turkey Day, a day to reflect on the past Holiday's spent with the "Parido Clan". Times of card games, stories, and jokes played on one another. Times spent together with family. Again I turn to memories of you. The times spent in Mississippi, at Nanny's, Spring Street, Sierra Dr, here. How you would always be polite and ask me how a certain something was made. I knew you were just being polite, but really you were hungry and wanting to eat. Yet you always tried to find a way to make others at ease. Billy we miss you. Life has changed as we know it without you here. We know you are looking out for us. God Bless you. Love always, Karen

Billy,
It's hard to believe that it has been five years since I heard the news. Looking back at the reflections it is easy to see why people write what they do about you. I know you will continue to look over us. Thank you.

TO THE FAMILY OF DEPUTY WALLS:
IT HAS BEEN FIVE YEARS. SOMETIME IT SEEMS LONG AND SOMETIMES IT SEEMS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY.
THE MEMORIES OF THOSE DAYS WILL NEVER GO AWAY. YOU ESPECIALLY START THINKING ABOUT THEM WHEN THE ANNIVERSARY APPROACHES.
WE TOO WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT WE DO REMEMBER BILLY AND HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. WHEN WE THINK OF OUR LOVED ONES THAT WE HAVE LOST, WE ALSO THINK ABOUT ALL OF THE OTHER FAMILIES THAT ARE GOING THROUGH OR HAVE GONE THROUGH THE SAME HURT AND PAIN.
HANG IN THERE, ONE DAY EVERYTHING WILL BE MADE RIGHT.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
