We don't understand why but we know God has a reason. I hope you are watching over all of us and I hope to meat you someday in the Kingdom and tell you how proud I am to call myself a brother officer.

To the family & friends of Trooper Vazquez,
A month before Frank's death, I attended the funeral of another trooper. This one was to say goodbye to the man I had been married to for 8 years. (Unfortunately we were separated at the time of his death but still trying to work things out) Like Frank, he was outside of his vehicle on a traffic stop & was struck as well as the 2 vehicles he had stopped. One of the drivers of the other vehicles was killed also. Calvin was killed instantly...not by a drunk driver but by a truck driver. It seems the way our loved ones were taken from us were very similar and so ironic that Frank died on 11-6 and Calvin was buried on 10-6. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts & prayers & I pray that Calvin & Frank had one more thing in common.....that they are both in heaven now.
To Frank's friends: take care of his family & continue to let them know that you are there for them. I haven't been quite that fortunate so I beg you to be there for them. I was one of Calvin's dispatchers & many of our co-workers seem to forget that we shared the last 10 years of our lives together. This is the most difficult thing his family will ever face.

Trooper Vazquez,
David Dye was sentenced to 8 1/2 years in prison yesterday, May 20, 2002...only 8 1/2 years for killing you. That is sad. He deserved much more. At least he isn't eligible for parole. He has to serve the entire time.

It is unbelievable the saddness that comes over me when I see this memorial. Though no words will ever replace the loss of Tpr. Vazquez or any officer, my prayers and sympathies go out to all who grieve. He lived as a noble man and will always be remembered that way.

Dear Kristina:
It is so nice that you are writing reflections to other families who are going through the same pain that you and yours are going through, that is very healthy, I hope you are doing ok, and don't ever forget that Frank still with you and your family.
If there is any time you need to talk to someone who's been there and back 1000 times, I am here to listen.
God Bless you'

My deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Trooper Vazquez. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. It is so sad to think that someone chose to drive drunk and killed a police officer doing his job. It is as sure a crime as if any other weapon had brought him down. The thin blue line is a little thinner with Trooper Vazquez's passing. Godspeed, Frank.

After my last post I called my brother-in-law who is also a OSP trooper, it turns out that Trooper Vazquez was a friend of his, they were in the same academy class, their dorm rooms were next to each other and they worked in neighboring post's. I pray for Trooper Vasquez and his co-workers. There is no greater sacrifice than ones life.

I would like to say to the family and fellow troopers "I am praying for all of you." I just started as a deputy about three months ago. Hearing stories like this is sad, but inspires me to continue with my job, because it proves that Trooper Vazquez was a true HERO. I will continue to pray that God will give strength to the loved ones.

It may not seem to some that Trooper Vazquez died as a hero... But let me tell you. He was out there keeping "OUR" society safe for all. I would imagine that he was doing a job, like most of us that we have always wanted to do. He is a "TRUE AMERICAN HERO" God bless your family and friends Trooper.

Trooper Vasquez, you are a true hero. Everyday the men and women of law enforcement put their lives on the line to try and make this place better for the rest of us, when one of them goes down a little piece of the rest of us go down with them. I pray for Trooper Vasquez and his family and may you rest in peace.

How ironic that a Trooper who has taken so many drunk drivers off our roadways over the years gets struck and killed by one. This is a prime example of the risks and sacrifices made by police officers every day. God Bless the family of Trooper Vazquez and the others who know and work with him. I can not fathom the loss felt by Mrs. Vazquez and their three children. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
