Reflections for Police Officer Jeffrey Michael Fontana
To the family and friends of Officer Fontana my heart felt grief goes out to all of you. I recently lost a friend and co-worker so I know that anything said will not take away the void left in your hearts. But know that you are not alone in your sadness. Anytime a brother in Blue is taken we all lose a little bit of our heart. God Bless and my prayers are with you.

"Why?" is the question asked. Why him? Why so young? Why now? I wish I could give you answers to your questions, or help to ease the pain in some way. I keep being told that time will heal the pain. I hope someday that is the true for all of us who have lost the ones we love. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Officer Fontana, for I know just how you feel.
Sincerely,

We have lost another brother today. Another officer who had his whole career ahead of him. He was robbed when he was murdered. Robbed of a wonderful, exciting, interesting life. I live only 30 minutes from San Jose, and our department's boundries border the county in which San Jose resides. These types of deaths are few and far between in our area, although we find ourselves becoming less and less awakened by these murders. Not because we feel no pain, or we think any less of these horific ordeals, but we in the Bay area, and the rest of the country are starting to develop nerve damage within our wounds. Our scars no longer have feeling because our anger and fear is too great. I check this website every day to pay my respects to any and every fallen officer in this country. But every day, my as well as many others' tears are beginning to dry up and become hard. Hard like our nerves and our hearts. Even though every story on this website is sad and horrible, the ones that are the closest geographically really hit home. My heart is so very heavy today, and yet tomorrow another officer will die, and my heart will sink even more. I can't wait until I'm doing this job full-time. And oddly enough, every reflection I write on this website, I become more and more anxious. In closure i want to say thank you to Officer Fontana. God bless you and your loved ones you have left behind. I will never forget you and all that you gave to the great city of San Jose.

Another Tragedy. Another Dead Police Officer. Death can come so quickly. It happens when you're not expecting it. Nobody even had time to tell Jeff good by. I hope when the killer is caught he can suffer some kind of great pain before he dies slowly i hope. My Son was Killed while on Duty.I know the terrible feeling all his friends will have now. You will never be able to forget this. Policemen are all guardian Angels here on Earth for everyone who may need one.God needed Jeff for something much better. Kenny

You're potential was taken from you. You've left us much too soon, and we will all miss you. Your life was taken by a coward who was jealous of the person that you were, and that we all remember you as. You have your wings now, so fly high...Angel's Son.

Once again, I am shocked by the senseless death of another brother in blue. Officer Fontana's death shows that anytime or anywhere, you could be responding to your last assignment. The cruel callousness of these cold-blooded killers transcend all boundaries of age, race, religion and environment. Ofc Fontana was killed in an area where he should have felt safe to walk alone at any time of day or night as a civilian or a police officer. It says that crime is not just limited to the lower classes. It shows that no matter where you live or work, you can also be a victim. I weep for our future.
Officer Fontana, " Come walk a beat on Heaven's Streets, you've done your time in hell. "

I pray for another fallen officer. An officer who barely started his dream job, an officer full of hope. The numbers that are coming up on odmp, are
heartbreaking. I pray for comfort to the friends and family of officer Jeffrey.

I am sorry to hear about your in the line of duty death. It hurts so bad when we loose a brother or sister in blue. I am an Explorer with the Ventura County Sheriff's Dept. in California. I hope this suspect gets caught soon. I don't understand why people think they can do this. I also don't think I will ever understand, although I wish I did. I wish you all the best. May God be with you all at this tough time and always. Also, Please do remember that Officer Fontana will be watching over you all. Take care and be safe my brother and sisters in blue. God Bless

Thank you for your service Officer Fontana. Though he didn't serve long, he will always be respected for doing the job and paying the ultimate sacrifice. It's hard to understand how someone could kill him for who he was, for we will always hold the highest respect for him. God bless his family and fellow officers. Your faith is what will get you through it.

THIS SENSELESS DEATH HITS CLOSE TO HOME. MY FIANCE' HAD ONLY SERVED TWO YEARS WHEN HE WAS KILLED. IT MAKES YOU SO MAD TO KNOW THAT BOTH OF THEM HAD ONLY STARTED THEIR CAREERS IN LAW ENF. AND TO HAVE IT TAKEN AWAY. BUT IT IS NICE TO KNOW THAT WE HAD AN ANGEL IN BLUE ON EARTH NAMED JEFFREY TO PROTECT US FOR THE SHORT TIME THAT HE DID.
