I never met you, but you were my brother in blue. I completed a memorial tower challenge today, and I was honored to carry you every one of the 2,071 stairs. I rang the memorial bell, and said your name for everyone to hear. A hero only dies when his name is spoken for the last time, and I will make sure your name is spoken every September 11.

I met "Wally" when I visited ESU truck 3 a few years ago when I took a holiday in New York, and I was staying with my good friend detective David Kellner in Brooklyn.
I can remember him telling me about a rescued dog who became ESU truck 3s mascot.
God bless all who lost their lives that fateful day.

I never had the honour of meeting you Walter, however, did have the pleasure of pending time with your dad in the years following. I was a Police Officer with Strathclyde Police in Glasgow, Scotland and played with their pipe band. Your dad was a huge fan of the band and used to visit us yearly. You were absolutely his hero and he proudly wore your picture on his chest daily. A truly lovely man who is sadly missed! Here’s to you Walter, the hero and here’s to your dad, I hope you are reunited and having a beer! God bless

Walter, it has been 20 years, my friend. As turkey season comes upon us, I know you walk the fields with me. You are missed on the hunt. You were so much younger than me and yet, taught me so much. You will always be a member of our family and always with your hunting pals. Rest in Peace.

Officer Weaver's name is on my memorial band.
I hate to read the tributes left for him because they represent his death, but I love to read from others because they represent his life.
As the wife of an active officer, and aunt to a fallen officer in the line, I thank you for your service and sacrifice, sir. You will never be forgotten.
