I was honored to wear a bracelet remembering Ramon Suarez at a memorial motorcycle ride in Phoenix, 2001. After the ride (there were more than 5,000 riders!) I looked up his biography and realized he and I would have been great friends as we had very similar interests. Every year I remember Ray and make a post somewhere on the Internet to help keep his name alive. I am sure he would be so proud of his daughter, Jillian, who is now an NYPD Officer. He is a hero to so many. Thank you for your sacrifice while saving others. We will NOT forget you.

During the City of Carthage annual 911 remembrance walk and stair climb I carried a lanyard with your name and information to remember your sacrifice. Sacrifice without remembrance is meaningless.

All I remember the most about Sept.11, 2001 is seeing you helping people from the World Trade Center and then reporting the loss of a Hero that I will never forget. P.O. Ramon Suarez was my first Training Officer at NYCTPD District 4 in 1988. The heart and professionalism P.O. Suarez had for riders on the train impressed me and put respect in my career for others. P.O. Suarez always had a smile and occasionally made us all laugh. It took me years to realize that his resting place is so close to my in-laws at St. Raymond's Cemetery(Bronx). I discovered through a friend of Ramon at a District 4 memorial for P.O. Suarez where his resting place was located(now I visit him often). Just found this site today and wanted to leave a Reflection to Ramon and his Family, today I have learned from a PSA 8 Officer I met at P.O. Suarez's resting place that Ramon's daughter is now a Police Officer with the NYPD and Ramon Suarez must be looking down so proudly on her new career. Jillian Suarez Congratulations on your new future and I'm sure your heart is as big as your Father's, so good luck and hope to read someday you have become the Police Commissioner(NYPD) as you would be great in that position . Your Father is deeply missed and I know it's 19 years now since this tragedy but I still remember him greatly from my training days on the subways. GODBLESS P.O. RAMON SUAREZ AND HIS BEAUTIFUL FAMILY. God Bless you and rest in peace always knowing that your service and sacrifice will never, ever be forgotten. P.O. Suarez you left many smiles on the Public, subway riders, other Officers and Family you saved, and on your FAMILY, Thank You for I had the Honor to be trained by one of the FINEST in NYCTPD/NYPD. Miss You and Godbless

Well RAY - what can I say except I am deeply saddened by your death. You were taken away too soon . I’m sure your wife and daughter - who you would be extremely proud of ( NYPD ) are extremely sad by the absence of your presence . Your were a great and active and street wise cop . The last time I saw you was a few month before 9/11 in bklyn @ tab court . We were laughing about what a joke it was ( kanagroo court ) I told you to be safe and watch your back when I left . Who would have known that was the last time you would be alive . Well , I’m sure your in a better place and looking over your family . I’ll always remember you fondly . Rest In Peace !!!

After 9-11, at a motorcycle parade to honor victims, I was honored to ride in memory of NYPD Police Officer Ramon Suarez. I think of Officer Suarez often. I have read his bio and know we would have been great friends had we ever met. Ramon Suarez, you will never be forgotten.

To the family and friends of Officer Raymond Suarez. Ever since wearing a remembrance bracelet for Ray in 2001, I have had him in my mind. My son also served as an NYPD officer and I realize what happened to your family could have happened to ours. We will never forget Ray or his or your sacrifice.

To the family of Ramon Suarez,
First and foremost, I want to send my condolences to you and your family for the loss of your loved one. May God bless your family.
I do not know you or Mr Suarez but I have a photo that I took showing the engraving of Ramon Suarez's name at the 9-11 memorial with a reflection of a cross on the Freedom Tower windows in the distance. I never noticed this cross until I posted the photo on Facebook yesterday and a friend commented on it . I felt this photo might be something you and your family might cherish. Please reach out to me and I will send to you. Much love and sympathy, Kim Sentonaris

I am with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and was hired with Ray in 1992. Ray and I would get together a few times at the Parrot and the conversations were always about our families. He missed them so much he headed back to NY. There's probably not a day I don't think about him as I have his picture (helping the lady) in my home and in our department, in the briefing room and at my desk. I'm honored to have known him. I saw his daughter on TV reading his name off at the memorial. I hope to meet his family someday.

I still remember the last time I saw Ray, in court, for a multiple shooting we were both involved in. I worked with Ray and remember him as a really good cop and a great person. In 2001, I only had 8 years on the job but learned a lot about being a good cop from Ray who had much more time on the job. Although on 9-11-01, Ray was in a different command, I wasn't surprised to see that he was taking initiative when duty called. God bless him and all the other officers and firefighters who answered the call that day.

To Carmen and Jillian. I don't have to tell you how special your dad was because you know it firsthand. I am a retired NYPD officer and remember running into Ray several times during our careers. I was from Bushwick and Ridgewood so I've also run into him while out shopping or running around in the neighborhood. It was a total shock to hear of his passing 12 years ago. I know how hard it was. I was also there. I remember him and Moira all the time. I wish you guys the best.

I am from North Louisiana, on the days following 9/11/01 I went into a store and they were selling silver bracelets with names of those who were still missing in the rubble. I picked up a bracelet and it was inscribed with Ramon Suarez - NYPD, I bought the bracelet and wore it for the months following this tragedy. I would catch myself praying for you and that you would be found alive. I began praying everyday for your wife and your children that God would wrap His arms around them and give them peace. It has now been 11 years and I still pray for your family. May the Lord Jesus bless them with a peace that surpasses all understanding.
