There are but two persons who protect the sinful human race from destroying itself. One is God's Holy Spirit. The other is the Peace Officer. Without them, we would all perish at each other's hands.

You were called into this profession and our Lord and Savior has blessed you because:
According to Romans 13.1-5...
God ordains the Peace Officer’s profession.
The Peace Officer is sent by God.
The Peace Officer is vested with God's authority to enforce the law.
A Peace Officer's badge is to be honored by us, because God honors it.

You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for your fellow man, while serving, defending, and protecting others in your community.

Thank you for your service to America. Your efforts saved thousand that horrible day.
My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends. You will be in our hearts forever.

I tried to attend as many funerals as I could during these darkest of days as my way of showing respect to families and coworkers of all of my brother and sister Officers and Firefighters. I cannot find the words to say how sorry I am that we have lost these great heroes. I cannot express my thanks enough for your bravery and sacrifice. My prayers are with you and all of your families......................AC

To the Rodriguez family and all those who lost loved ones on 9/11, I've prayed a thousand prayers, and cried a thousand tears, the pain I still feel, for the loss of life, and the suffering of family and friends. For my home town,on 9/11/01 a part of me died with all those hero's. Now they are all our angels, watching over us, making sure we stay safe. My 9/11 pin is worn on my uniform everyday with pride and honor, for all those who gave there lives to save others.God bless you...

To the parents of Officer Richard Rodriguez (Port Authority).

My son and I want to express our deepest condolences to the family of Officer Rodriguez for the loss of their loved one.

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting or knowing him, considering the values and hard work it takes to become a Law Enforcement Officer, I'm confidant that he was a fine young man. Because we share the same name (ours is spelled with a "q") and the same profession, I have felt a special bond with him ever since I read his name on the list of Fallen Officers a few days after the September 11 tragedy.

My son is Officer Richard Rodriquez (Port Authority - San Diego). Like your son, he is at the beginning of his career and looking forward with excitement. Although he and I are separated by hundreds of miles, I think of him just like you think of your own son - everyday.

This past Christmas, we put up a memorial tree in our home, decorated (of course) in red, white and blue. Each bulb had the name and Department of an Officer who lost their life on that horrible day. As I placed each one on the tree, I was keenly aware that these were not just names I was hanging, these were the children of parents who worried and prayed against the day that something like this would ever happen. Each bulb represented a life ended for one person and a nightmare begun for many, many more. Each bulb marks the moment that our country and our world changed forever. Each bulb hung like a shiny teardrop; added to the ocean of tears shed for all the sons and daughters that have died to protect and serve. The bulb with the name of your son was the last one we put on. In it, I could see the reflection of my own face and my own life. And there, I could see the reflection of my own son - and of your too.

I'm just an old patrol sergeant myself and I have no words that can comfort you. I just hope that, somehow, this note may someday find it's way to you. Then, you would know that we think of your son here in California and that his memory and his dreams for the future still live on.

I could think of no better way to pay tribute to you, so I decided to get my rump on a bicycle and ride to DC in your honor. There is not a day that goes by that you, Dave and Ricky are not in my thoughts. I know you guys are looking down on us. I can't watch Austin Powers in the same way anymore. You are missed more than you could have ever imagined. Take care pal !

Patrolman Benjamin Salerno

Six months has gone by and I still can't believe you're gone. I look for you every time we play and expect to see you bebop on up to us with your tank top and fanny pack on. The parades start this weekend and it will not be the same bro. May you rest in peace and I know that you, Stevie and Liam are still keepin' the beat!

I would like to give my condolences to the family and friends of Officer Rodriguez. He was one of my academy instructors at the Middlesex County Auxiliary Police Academy. Officer Rodriguez put in his time by helping us learn about traffic stops and answering questions we may of had. I will always remember Officer Rodriguez and he will be greatly missed. God bless the family and friends of Officer Richard Rodriguez.

Your death will be avenged and your heroism, courage and bravery will never be forgotten!

My Prayers are with all the friends and family of all the officers who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
I lost my brother tragically, Det. David Taylor, Greensboro PD, On August 7, 2001. I was in NY for my fiancee's Mother's funeral the first of Sept. I was stranded there for 3 weeks due to this atrocity. As I watched the events on TV, I cried for all those who lost their lives. But was especially emotional about the Police Officers and the Firefighters and their families, as I had just recently suffered a tragic loss myself. As I walked through the streets in the days following the attack, I cried with pride as I saw the officers on duty on all the corners in the city. I knew how hard it was for them, knowing they had lost their friends. On the Sat. following the attack I was at St. Patrick's for mass. The last 2 people to go up and take communion were 2 NYPD officers, again I cried. I hope all of you are getting the support that my family and I got when we needed it, from the Deparment. I know the comforting words and even the funny stories the officers tell us about my brother helps. I know that our loved ones who are gone from here, had a higher calling and are happy and at peace in Heaven. Hopefully we can all feel that same peace one day! God bless All of you! And God bless America!
