Reflections for Police Officer David Prudencio LeMagne
Dave, I still remember the first time we met in Hudson Catholic. I had signed on as one of the equipment managers for the football team and being the prankster you were, you pulled my shirt up over my head and tried to tie it in a knot! We became great friends and eventually brothers in blue when I became an EMT I remember having you on so many of my early calls and asking questions so I could learn more about my new career. You taught me so much not just about EMS but about life. I miss you brother!! Would love to run just one more call with you for old times sake, but that will have to wait till we meet again! Love ya brother!! GO HAWKS!!!!

My partner and I had the pleasure of precepting Dave as a paramedic student at St Joes in Paterson. He was an enthusiastic student and became a outstanding medic by all accounts.

Dave,
I remember we met on a CAG on Communipaw and you were the Tour Chief. You didn’t hesitate and jumped in to help us. You remained the same great person throughout JCMC and after graduation from the academy. I wish 9-11-01 turned out different for all of us. We are all better for having known you and I remind myself of what you told me the first time we met “you are never in this alone”.

I did not know you, but last year I visited NYC for the first time to pay my respects to those that lost their lives on 9/11/2001. While visiting the WTC, I purchased a metal bracelet that has the name of a fallen officer. The name on mine is yours. I wore the bracelet today to honor your memory. One of my brothers is a police officer here in California, and I can only imagine how difficult it must be for your family to have lost you. I just wanted to let your family know that all the way in California, I wear a bracelet with your name to honor your memory. May each of your loved ones find peace knowing that you were so very courageous.

Today I honored David by carrying his photo during the 9-11 110 story memorial stair climb event at the Duke Power Center in Charlotte, NC. I am a Police officer with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. I did not know David, but since honoring him today I have read what others have shared. I know his spirit was with me today, helping to push me to the top. All gave some but some gave all may we never forget their selfless sacrifice.

David, In the brief moment that we met, well I appretiate what you did for me. We didn't know one another but I've been told I missed the train on a good friendship. If ST. Peter has my name in his book & I'm blessed to pass The Gates I'll be sure to look you up. Thanx Brother. Watch over all of us. Raul

Dave,
A ton of people miss you, including myself. I will never forget the last time I saw you: When you ran in front of my RMP while I was patrolling Mulberry St. Out of all the MOS in NYC you kept your eye out for me. You always did, going back to when you were my "hook" to get interviewed/hired at UMDNJ. I was excited when you told me you were on PAPD and working in Manhattan. I was hoping to have the chance to look out for you ! Miss you brother !

Lord, he was yours to give,
and yours to call home.
Please stand by his brothers,
so they're not all alone.
Dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly can see,
that he gave us his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy
on HEROES IN BLUE.
Amen.
Rest easy now David. Your job here is done. God has a higher calling for you.

Dave, I was looking at ODMP here, at all the guys ya know. Its been 7 years. Im leaving reflections. Its painful. But I need to do this for me. Do you know how funny you were? You made me laugh like crazy. You would give me these weird looks in the academy and I would laugh my ass off bro. I'll never forget the time we spoke about paramedics while sitting in that lame classroom at seagirt, and you told me about the little boy who choked on a hot dog. And you being the medic on scene, using your skills, put a tube in his throat, but couldnt get an airway, so you tried to save the boys life by actually reaching into his throat and cutting the pieces of hotdog out of his trachea to remove the hot dog and free the airway. I dont rememeber if the boy survived, but that story has stayed with me and always will. Youre a true hero and always were Dave.
