I was attending a officer survival/combat mindset training this week. Your photo was shown in class of you rescuing people from the buildings. You stood strong and fought the fight. Your courageous efforts and selfless attitude made me want to be the best police officer I can be. Thank you for your service. Rest well brother, we have the watch from here....... 10-42 Sir.

Chris.....
I can't believe it has been almost 10 years since that dreadful day when we lost you......I swear it seems like yesterday! We think of you often and words can not express how much we miss you! You are a true 9/11 hero but that doesn't take the pain away.....even though we know you died doing what you loved. You were safely out of the South Tower yet ran back in to help others......we wish you would have stayed outside the building but then that wouldn't have been you. For those of you who do not know him personally....Chris's nickname: "chopper".....was a true genuine friend, he was caring, always made you smile and had a laugh that was contagious. He was just like a big snuggly teddy bear. Almost 10 years gone.....never forgotten......and it never gets any easier. We miss you and love you PAPD Officer Christopher "Chopper" Amoroso!! Until we meet again my friend!!

I learned of Chris' sacrifice yesterday in a training class put on by Col. David Grossman U.S. Army (ret). The photo of him assisting the woman from the WTC towers struck me and my classmates. It was a very sobering moment about what we have to face in this job. Godspeed, Chris. The photo of you is what I will always think of when someone mentions NYPA Police.

Lord, he was yours to give,
and yours to call home.
Please stand by his brothers,
so they're not all alone.
Dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly can see,
that he gave us his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy
on HEROES IN BLUE.
Amen.
Rest in peace Chris,

I am just going through the names of the fallen heroes on 9-11 and came to Officer Chris' name. The comemoration of the heroic acts of Chris in that late event is fast approaching.
I am moved to send this message and moved to "pray" for all the heroes in that event. As a priest I am one with the family and friends of Sir Christopher in praying for him. My heartfelt condolences for your great loss.
To Sir Christopher: "I salute you! You have left your loved ones but your memories of heroism continues to live on in their hearts and in the hearts of all people whose outcry is Peace, Love and Unity for the Whole World. Be at Peace in God's bossom."

I am a police officer in Mount Olive New Jersey and recently particiapated in the Police Unity Tour. A bicycle ride from NJ to DC for a memorial service at the Police Officers Memorial. This year I road in Honor of Christopher. I recently had a class were the instructor mentions Chris. After researching him I felt obligated to ride in his honor. As a husband and father, I could only imagine what he went through that day. I also think of the ones he had to leave behind. Each year I particiapte in the Unity Tour and would like to someday meet Christophers wife and daughter and offer the memorial bracelet that I wore from NJ to DC. I would also like to mention that Christophers memory lives on in every DARE class that I teach when we discuss making difficult decisions in life.
May god bless Christopher and his family. I invite any family member to reach out for me if they wish to do so.
Sincerly

Dear Chris:
I am certain that somewhere, there is a woman who sits alone in her pain and sorrow, enduring her loss. Somewhere, there is a woman who probably wonders, Why? A woman who suffered for 9 months to bring you into this world, and spent years teaching you right from wrong, and teach you to protect those who cannot protect themselves. But whatever it is that this woman, your Mom, did, she obviously did it right. She gave birth to and raised, an American hero.
Our world is a better place because of you and your heroic actions. But you are not dead, no sir. Heroes never die, they become immortalized, and so it is with you. I think of General McCuliffe when I think of you and all the others who did it all that horrible day. Against incredible odds on 26 December 1944, at the Battle of Bastogne, surrounded and facing certain death, the members of the 101st Airborne Division's Commander, General McCuliffe was offered a chance to surrender to the Germans. His reply: "NUTS!"
Because of their bulldog determination, many soldiers survived. As it was with you. Knowing you are facing certain death, STILL you ran into a building about to collapse, and assisted in the saving of 25,000 innocent lives. The 101st Airborne, General McCuliffe, and now you and all the rest, are American icons, heroes, and legends.
I made a promise to you and all our brother officers who died that day; to write each of you a reflection, and this is for you. You have earned it, and more than anyone will ever be able to repay. At a time when America needed you most, when death was at your elbow, I want to thank you for your version of the same response: "NUTS". Made God hold you in His hand, may He bless your family, and may God Bless America. Amen
