Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Donald Kenneth Bond
Don Bond was a great friend who was always willing to help a fellow officer or anyone who needed help. I have known Don since late 1995 when he was a Hamilton County dispatcher. Don became a reserve officer with the City of Collegedale while I was employed there and we spent a lot of hours together in a patrol car. Don and I spent time together after he went to patrol for Hamilton County as well. It was Don who talked me into going to work for Hamilton County. Don, I will miss you! We will never forget you! My prayers are with your family and fellow officers. We have all lost a great friend and officer.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deputy Bonds family. Another senseless loss to which we are left to grieve with heavy hearts. Another hero has left us here on Earth, but we will all see him in the future.

To Family and Freinds,
May God give peace to you. We never know why people are taken away from us but later in life we come to realize that God's plan always works. I have lost several friends in the line of duty and it is hard to deal with but ask and you shall recieve the peace only God can give, through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
May God's Peace be with you,

To the friends and family of Donald,
Why we have to endure so much pain sometimes is a mystery. Death truly boggles the human mind and rips the heart to pieces. It's difficult to remember that they are so blissfully happy that it's just insane, while we are so, so heartbroken. It is little comfort sometimes that God has God's reasons. The transition between life and death can happen to quickly and unexpectedly, which makes it hurt even worse than gradual deterioration. There are no good-byes, and no time machines to allow us that one chance we passed up to eat lunch with them, or to return to the evening where we almost called them, but got sidetracked. Death is dark, dark thing for those of us left behind, but is the brightest light in the universe to those who have passed. Life is also a bright light, and I'm sure that Donald lived a great life and touched many, many people. You have a long road I know, but Donald is surely watching over each of you. God Bless.
