Reflections for Police Officer John C. Bohach
This community has lost a great man and hero. John, I think of all the times we talked and all the things you did for my wife and new baby. Those times seem so long ago and now I miss them greatly. I wish I would have cherished those moments. I would have had I known they were numbered. I can't begin to make sense of your loss as it doesn't make sense to me. It seems that you have beaten fate so many times before, so why now did this have to happen. I will pray for you, Linda, your girls and your family. When I got this job they said I would shed blood, sweat and tears. With your loss, I have shed them all. I miss you brother

John, rest in peace old friend. Two years seems like only yesterday when last we saw you back here in Virginia, where you spent your childhood. We have many fond memories of our times together.
You served your community well and wore the badge with honor. You made the ultimate sacrifice, as too many others have done before you. Our prayers are with you and your loved ones - may the Lord bless and keep you. You will not be forgotton by your friends - Edison High School class of 1984.

"A Part of America Died"
Somebody killed a policeman today,
and a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
and spend many long, lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battle field too,
just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
and he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call, of himself gave his all,
and a part of America died.

Thank you for watching over us, John.
Lord, bless our officers and their families.
