Deputy City Marshal Hawks,
On today, the 130th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Temple.

Rest in Peace Deputy Marshal Robert E. Hawks. Thank You for your brave Service and Sacrifice protecting the citizens of Temple, Texas.

I Pray for Peace for your ancestors and the men and women who now serve Temple, Texas. I also Pray that while your murderers did not escape punishment here on this earthly realm that the hounds of hell are now gnawing on their sorry bones. May nothing but thorn bushes and weeds grow on their graves. May their sorry souls be consumed by the lake of fire.

Amen.

Senior Special Agent B.L. Sherwood

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
God Bless

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and twentieth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003). Unfortunately, I had to add the name of another friend recently. Deputy Jeffery Hewitt, Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s Department, E.O.W. April 4, 2004.

I want to honor all of those who gave their life in the line of duty. Although your death was many many years ago, you are still a hero.

God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

...Gone, but never Forgotten....

Deputy Marshal Hawks,

It is a shame that today's justice can not be as swift and as deserving as it was in your day. Rest in peace. Serve heaven as you did the earth.

I wish there were more citizens that would stick up for the law enforcement officers as these folks did. It's a shame that a Marshall lost his life, but glad to see he was widely backed by the community. You don't see that today!!!
