Reflections for Police Officer Domenick J. Infantes, Jr.
Wow. Seems like yesterday when we worked at Tops Appliance together in Secaucus while you were waiting on the call from JCPD. We had fun goofing off working there I later ran into you when I started driving a package car for UPS. My route was around Storms Ave. You walk among the angels. You were a good dude with an awesome sense of humor.

It’s been 21 years and you are not forgotten. I had the pleasure of working with you as a rookie and you helped mold me the officer I became. Your passion, dedication and sense of humor was unparalleled.
I’ll always remember this gem: “Most cops learn to shut their mouths within three years. You, my friend, are on the five year plan.”

My brother was also a Jersey City Police Officer, he was killed while off duty in his home. That was on July 5,1998,almost 3 years to the day of Officer Infantes.
At the time of officer Infantes death, I was a sergeant with the Jersey City Parking Authority and assisted with the funeral procession for officer Infantes.
When officer Infantes was in the hospital fighting for his life,I remember seeing all the officers waiting around and praying for his recovery. I also remember how outraged the community was when one of the suspects was found guilty of the lesser charges.

You are not forgotten.

Dom, was a recruit who I had the pleasure of teaching in the Jersey City Police Academy. We became friends soon after he graduated and I do mean friends. His actions the day that he died were downright courageous. He will always have a special place in my heart and my memory. Rest easy my friend.

Seven days ago was the anniversary of your passing. Nine days ago our nation celebrated our 238th birthday and those who know and love you best mourned the 13 anniversary of your vicious murder at the hands to two filthy animals that the courts apparently either took pity on, or committed a crime in addition to your murder. Either way, whomever was responsible for allowing your killers free, I hope they are living a full life of guilt over it. Damn them.
Officer Infantes, you were doing what was right, you were trying to stop an act of violence upon another person who was trying to stop an wrongful act. How sad and infuriating that you should have been so brutally taken from your family, friends and the City of Jersey City. Your family is in my prayers.
To your brother, I pray he is safe and realizes that you are always close by.
God Bless and may you Rest forever in Peace, Brother.

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones. You have not been forgotten as true heroes never die. Continue to keep watch over your family for I know that the pain will never leave their broken hearts for as long as they walk this earth. You will never be forgotten.

Hey brother
Its been a long time since I have posted on here. I know you know that I did not forget, I think of you every day of my life. The boys are getting so big now. Little Domenick has your personality, its pretty amazing. Jude looks just liek I did when I was little, I think its great that they get to share birthdays like we did.
I still share mine with you, I just do it more privately. You know, while time flies by and I get older and my kids grow up, There is just that part of me that wants to be the little kid waiting for his big brother. I am so upset that I can never get that back. I would do anything for one more moment in your presence.
I wish I had your help and guidance in so many ways. Besides Suzanne and I and the kids, everything else pretty much fell apart. I know it is all out of my control, but it still hurts the same. I am lucky to have what I have at home because it makes me happy. I just wish you could see it.
I miss you brother.
