Thinking about you today brother- watch over us. It seems like yesterday that I heard the terrible news, although it has been about 4 yrs now. You are not forgotten James, we think of you often.

I was reading the memorial page today and noticed that today was three years since Trooper James A. Moen has passed away. My brother was a New Jersey State Trooper who was killed in a car accident this past February. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Moen family and to the Alaska State Troopers.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).
We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.
These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

It seems like yesterday when I was a young Officer in Kake when you used to come and pick me up and take me with you as backup on calls in our area. We were both from Minnesota, and you helped ease my homesickness by offering your friendship. I was shocked to hear only a few months ago about the accident from a friend at another department. My prayers are with your wife and children, you will be missed.

I deeply regret the loss of another fine man,and state trooper. I served 18 months at Eielson AFB(near Fairbanks),and met several troopers. The professional, caring, and dedication I witnessed was a fine tribute to Alaska Troopers.I'm sure the world needs more fine men of their caliber!

May you watch over us from heaven and protect your other fellow brothers. God bless you and your family.

My heart broke when I heard of your passing from Sandy. We worked together in Petersburg and Soldotna. You were a friend of mine "bud" and will be sorely missed by all who know you. Keep "Valhallah" orderly until my arrival, God bless you and your family. Your friend, the "Montana Wild Man"

Jim, you are the troopers Trooper. I know the softball fields will hold an empty spot that no one will fill. Thanks for tips, friendship and inspiration.
