To the Family and friends of Deputy McLane, My prayers are with you during this time of grief. I lost my partner a year ago tommorrow (06-13-00). He (Cpl. Ron Courville) also payed the altimate sacrifice. Responding to assist me on a call,he was killed in a traffic accident. These special people that payed the altimate sacrifice, God has a plan for them. They will forever be remembered as Heros.
Cpl. Charles Scott

"Blessed are the peacekeepers, for they shall be called the sons of God" And Bless you brother. I was told that when God picks his flowers he picks the best, this was true in Deputy Mclanes case. He will be greatly missed.

My name is Ann McLane and Deputy McLane was my husband. I was and am very proud of the job he did and fortunately, told him so. Again, fortunately, the last thing I said to him that morning was "I love you." I, his children, grandchild, brothers and sisters sincerely appreciate the wonderful reflections we have read on these pages. I can only pray that additions to the Officer Down pages never materialize but we all know differently. May God bless and keep you all.
Ann McLane
I click on this site all the time. And the names that appear never hit so hard as when you know the brave Officer. I went to the Academy with Deputy Mclane. I hope the lord needed a Brave man, because he got one.

To the Family, Relatives, Friends and Law Enforcement Brothers and Sisters of Deputy Haskel McLane,
Our prayers and condolances are extended to you in the line of duty death of Deputy Sheriff McLane. This February, our County (Gregg County) experienced a similar situation in which Deputy Sheriff Vance Clements was enroute to a likened situation and was killed as his patrol car struck a tree.
We mourn with you , but we pray for and with you. May God draw each of you nigh now and in the days ahead.

To the family of this brave deputy, I offer my hearfelt condolances. Although I only met him once or twice, nothing but kind words were used to describe the man and the work that he performed. All give some, but some give all and they are our true heros in every sense of the word. God bless you Haskel from a brother in blue.

HASKEL WAS A GREAT FRIEND TO MANY.IT'S HARD TO THINK ABOUT HIM WITHOUT SHEDDING TEARS.WHEN HE CAME INTO OWENS CROSS ROADS ,WHETHER IT BE ON OR OFF DUTY,HE ALWAYS STOPPED TO SAY HELLO,AND TO SEE IF HE COULD HELP IN ANY WAY.THAT WAS HASKEL,ALWAYS THERE WHEN SOMEONE NEEDED HIM.I HAD THE PLEASURE OF EATING LUNCH WITH HIM TWO DAYS BEFORE HIS WATCH ENDED,AND I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT DAY.HE WILL ALWAYS HAVE A PLACE IN MY HEART AS A FRIEND AND BROTHER.MY PRAYERS AND HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY.HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.

The Tennessee Valley is a safer place due to officers like Haskell McClain....Officer McClain, you have given all of us in Huntsville and the area a safer place to live and we will never be able to repay our debt.....Hopefully our prayers will be heard by Him and you.....
