Reflections for Border Patrol Agent Jason Christopher Panides
Vaya con Dios mi hermano. Nos vimos temprano a las puertas de Sr. Dios.
BPA E. Sherman
USBP/Ysleta Station
Jason reminds me of many Officers that have been killed in the line of duty around my area. It is hard to see a young man be taken away from us. We never know when our time will come, so we must be prepared. We all will leave this earth in a time we least expect. Our time is short but the time we will spend in heaven will be for eternaty. Jason is there now in the presence of the God who created all of us. One day we will see him again. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Jason but I can't wait to meet him in the presence of God.

He is just away.........
So brief life can be
like a candle, blown out from a puff of wind
look to the sky, you will see him there
hear the sound of his voice in the cool morning air
He is not really "gone"....he is just away
think of him when you look at the sunrise of a beautiful day
never forget, we are all born as "one"
never forsaken, and always loved
when to your heart comes the sorrow of losing a friend
never forget they are with us, there is never an "end"

The State of Michigan recently inacted a new law to help prevent the very type of accident that took the life of Agent Panides. I hope the law will help to make a difference in officer safety during enforcement action along the roadside.
My condolences go out to the family, friends and colleagues of Agent Panides on behalf of the membership of the FBI Agents Association.
Special Agent Darin L. Paul

My condolence to his family and friends, we will not forget a fellow brother

Working along the border of Mexico is full of dangers from snakes to smugglers. Every day we pray that the Lord will let us live through another shift. Yet, in spite of all the dangers we face, we forget about the careless motorists who are too busy trying to see what is going on than to pay attention to their driving.
May God Bless Jason and his family (both by blood and by badge). You will be missed by all.

My good friend, Border Patrol Agent Ian O'Reilly, called me the day Agent Panides died. As officers we look to each other for help and comfort. Agent Panides should be remembered as a Federal Agent who lost his life in the Line of Duty. I wish all members of the Laredo area Border Patrol my condolences and to Agent Panides' family.
May he Rest in Eternal Peace,
A Friend
Officer Chris McCarthy
As a fellow law enforcement officer it is always discomforting to hear of a fellow LEO's death, but when it happens to one of your fellow agents it is even harder. May the good Lord comfort his family and his station agents, y que Dios tenga a nuestro hermano agente, Jason C. Panides en su reino.

Our department also lost a hero the same day Agent Panides was taken from you. We share your pain and grief. It is never easy to lose a friend, brother/sister, and colleague. We shall never forget them. May God be with the friends, family, and fellow agents of your fallen hero.

"Our Fallen Brother"
As I held him close, I began to cry
Wondering and hoping our friend would never die
I could see the whites of his eyes, as he held me tight
The wind whisked through his hair, as we saw the light
He cried no more as we fell to the ground
His one single tear, would never be found
Cry not my friend God will take you home
The Angels in Heaven will not be alone
You're safe and well as a child to his mother
You will always be remembered as OUR FALLEN BROTHER

As a former Officer I hate to read about things like this. I am now a truck driver, so this is of real concern to me. All drivers should pay attention to their driving. They just enacted a law here in Michigan requiring drivers to move to the left or slow down when an Officer is on the side of the road. We should not need laws, all we need is a little common courtesy, and common sense. My prayers go out to the family and friends of Officer Panides.

Please, accept in the name of my wife Aleidy and myself, our deepest condolences in the death of Agent J.C. Panides, of the Laredo command. It is always heartbreaking to hear the news of the death of a brother or sister in blue. May God grant him eternal rest and His consolation to the Agent's family, friends and coworkers.

Even though it has been over a year and four months, you are still a part of 368,..... never to be forgotten. Tonight we drink to you, buddy: arriba, abajo, acentro, y adentro. Conocimos a las puertas al Sr. Dios!

I remember the day vividly. I was driving onto FLETC in Brunswick for training and I saw a message on the electronic sign: " In Memoriam. Jason Panides. USBP." I literally screamed. He was one of, if not the hardest worker at the station. All heart.

Jason,
I still remember that night vividly. We had worked together just a few nights before...a crazy experience as always. That night changed the Agents of Laredo North forever. It changed the station forever. It's been about 9 months since you left....man, it sure doesnt feel like that long ago. Just about every other day or so somebody still brings up a "Panides story". You left us a legacy of laughter Jason. Just by being yourself each and everyday you made work and being around you fun and sometimes comical. You were a great friend to alot of people and they all miss you and wish we could hang out with you again for just a couple of minutes more. Rest in peace Brother. You're in a better place than we are. We'll see you again one day Jay.

JASON,
DUDE, I REALLY MISS JOKING AROUND WITH YOU AND THE WAY YOU COULD MAKE SOMEONE LAUGH EVEN IN THE MOST INTENSE SITUATIONS. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE NIGHTS IN "CLUB MONTE" WITH A COLD ONE IN OUR HANDS. I KNOW YOU ARE DOING JUST FINE UP THERE WITH ST. PETE AND LOOKING DOWN ON US WITH THAT SMILE OF YOURS. KEEP A COLD ONE ON HAND FOR THE REST OF US BRO AND ONE DAY WE CAN LAUGH ABOUT THE OLD DAYS ONCE AGAIN.
PALS,
