Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Investigator Sherry Elizabeth Lyons-Williams

Sherry,
The world will never be the same now that you are no longer with us, in the flesh. The sun still rises in the morning, and sets each and every evening. But something seems to be missing. It took me a while to figure out just what it was. It's you, my friend. We miss you.

Many months have passed since you were taken from our fold, but the hurt is still present and the loss is still felt by everyone who knew and loved you. The glow that entered a room with you is gone, that ready smile you so eagerly shared with the world is missing, and the mood is just a little bit darker without all your crazy jokes.

I thank God He gave us a small part of your time here on earth. Let me assure you, my friend, your memory will be with us forever. That hearty sense of humor and your dedication to the job are a constant reminder that you were here and left a favorable mark.

Rest in peace and know that those of us left behind will carry on the best we can in the job you did so well.

Sergeant Glenda Antuna
Atlanta Police Department

My thoughts and prayers go to her family. I am sorry for thier loss.

Sgt. T. Ferguson
Henry County Police Department

I would like to say to the Atlanta Police Dept, thank you for your sincere condolences on the tragic loss of one of our own, even though your hearts were heavy from the loss of one of your own. To the family, I will continue to pray for you. As a female officer, it's hits like a brick to hear that one of us has been taken away from our children and husbands. I know that you gave your life doing what you love, and at your time of death, you were at peace...
I WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE THE CITIZENS OF MY COMMUNITY, WITH THE SAME RESPECT AND LOYALTY THAT YOU HAVE...YOU WILL BE FOREVER IN MY HEART. FROM ONE SISTER IN BLUE TO ANOTHER....MAY YOU WATCH OVER US

Sherry, I will really miss you each and every day. Please do know that you are in a safer and better place than we are. Thanks for all the funny stories that you have told. Thanks for showing me how to be a better spades player. I now have to dedicate each and every day of my career to you and my Dad. You both have been instrumental to my life.

love always
