This story is like reading history, the first ever Boulder PD patrol car and BFD fire engine involved in the same crash.
I can only imagine the excitement all felt because now the response times would be much quicker, only to end so tragically.
God bless you and the Undersheriff. Although we lost you, I know Heaven is a more joyous place to be. NEVER FORGOTTEN, Chief, never.

Chief Bass - Thanks for your service to both the people of Boulder and the State of Colorado. I stood in the State Assembly chambers, last Friday, when your name was read off during a resolution regarding the upcoming Peace Officer's memorial week. You are not forgotten.
May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 90th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.
