Agent James, there are not enough words in the English language to express the importance of your job. There are not enough ways to say thank you, to you and all those employed by the Border Patrol. You are heroes all, but when giving your life for your job becomes the case, you hold a special place in all our hearts. On this 9th anniversary of your tragic death, I wish to convey my deepest sympathy to those who miss you most. I know you have never truly left them.
God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 8th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
I can see from the loving reflections left that you were an amazing man and father who positively impacted the lives of others, and that you are loved and missed by so many. Time never diminishes love or respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

I see you every now and then in my dreams. You coming to spend time with your wife. I asked you, if you knew you only had a little time to visit. You just smiled, told me you didn't want to talk about it. You were enjoying your time here visiting with all of us. Especially your wife & the kids. You made me laugh, and still managed to aggravate me like you used to!! It seemed all to real. I woke to the sound of my alarm clock. Realizing that it was just a dream. Though, I truly believe it was you. I wish I could have said goodbye to you. You & your wife meant so very much to me & to my son. You were there for me in a time my life wasn't going the way I had planned. You were such an amazing father & husband to witness. I miss you. I'm glad to have had the chance to meet you. I hope you knew that you were an inspiration to so many. I will always cherish the many memories of you! Its amazing how you have made an impression in my life.
Rest in peace Miles...you will never be forgotten.
Love & miss you..wish you were still here -

To Special Agent Daniel James and his loved ones:
On this the fourth anniversary week of your tragic death, please know that your memory is honored and revered today.
My heart goes out to your family. You’re in our thoughts and our prayers.
You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.
This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.
