Reflections for Officer John T. Crum
Two years ago while doing some ancestry work, I found out that my great-great grandfather John T Crum was a police officer killed in the line of duty. My nephew is a corrections officer for the State of Illinois and my late uncle was a corrections officer for the State of Florida. I have made sure that my family members are aware of John T. Crum’s sacrifice in 1901.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and eleventh anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.

Great Grandfather, you were a lost legend in our family, but now I have found you. In honor of your son, Louis, my grandfather, I salute your sacrifice, and the sacrifice of your family. Your son Louis had to go far away due to family hardship. But he was a great success as a businessman and father. We love you, Great Grandfather, and I am esp. proud to bear your name.
If I could be as brave, I would be most honored. Brad Crum (John Bradford Crum 1-25-2005)
