Greene Willis was my Grandfather (on my Mother's side of the family). She was 3 years old when he died. Each year that Easter rolled around, she was filled with a bit of sadness though she knew he was a man of faith. It has been my privilege to serve as a deputy, a pastor, and now a chaplain in a SO in NC. Tomorrow here in Charlotte the officers who have fallen in service to the community will be honored. I am thankful for all who have served and are still serving our communities. I am thankful for my grandfather, though I never knew him. My Mother died this past October which makes this moment even more significant. May God continue to protect our men and women who protect and serve us all!

His brother Charles was my great-grandfather, and I was given my middle name in his honor. The correct spelling, though, is Greene. Maybe somebody can look into that?

I just recently learned that Green was my grandfathers brother. I have been in law enforcement for 22 years. It's a huge honor knowing I'm related to such a man who gave his life protecting others. Green you will always live inside me and be my driving force.
